NVIDIA ‘Ampere’ 8nm Graphics Cards

Erm hello... GeForce FX 5800 Ultra.

:)

Yes. It's a cool looking case.

My one keeps nice and cool, can be a bit noisy though. Could be your case and airflow.

It transferred pretty considerable amount of its heat to the case, it was very warm to the touch everywhere - I doubt the case air flow is so bad, just the card runs over 300 watts.

But it no longer matters because I returned it to its real owner. I had used for several days just to get my configuration ready...

The Gigabyte RTX 3080 Gaming OC 10G runs so hot, that turns the whole case hot, too. I have never seen so much heat and noise from a graphics card.
It's running like a vacuum cleaner...

I can see and hear my pc as it is beside beside not once have I heard my 3090 zotac this thing idles at 27 lol highest gaming temp has been 80 with fans set at default .

Err, it has always been defaults here, too. The thing is that these defaults are maybe around 100% of the fan speed, so the noise is very high.

You can install an app on your phone to measure the decibels and report it.

Mine was probably 60 dB or higher.

He obviously needs a new case or ram the card. I have two 200m fans at the front and one 120mm at the back. Airflow is very good as inside the case stays cool as the heat gets dumped out. I even put my hand on top on the case which has airflow outlet and feel cool air escaping and there are not even any fans there. Best part is I got the case cheap, was like £60 I think, bargain.

are u looking forward to the 3080 ti? seems legit it will come out now

So I am still in position 500 odd for my 3080. At current rate it's about 70 maybe 100 a month that that goes down.

Soon on average another 5 months to wait. Plus the 4 that have already passed, so if it takes 9 months to get to me, I might just cancel it after all.

9 months of it's lifecycle is almost 50% of the GPU product life span until we get a new series or a refresh. So I might as well just put up with my 1080 for another year and wait it out.

What for? 10% (educated guess) extra performance? You did not think upgrading from your 2080Ti to a 3080 was worth it and there is a much bigger performance gap there.

My next upgrade will be a next gen card on a new architecture that brings a big boost in both rasta and rt performance ;)

The gap is only when you game with RT on. Without RT its barely 30 percent better

Yeah. Cannot believe you stuck with it as long as you have. Don't know why you did not jump on the FE boat when you saw a bunch of people like me doing it a few months ago. Maybe just grab a 3060 Ultra founders edition when it comes out soon to tied you over until the 4080 comes out?

Indeed. So are you saying you think the gap between the 3080 and 3080Ti will be above 30%? :p

I've been keeping my eyes peeled for a 3080 FE drop but it hasn't happened yet. I've seen some 3060s and 3070s but no 3080s. :o

I did have a chance to grab a 3070 a few weeks back but let it go.

Currently my 1080 is all I need any way. I've purposely not played Watch Dogs or Cyber Punk.

One due to bugs and two as I wanted my 3080 to play it with RTX.

At this rate, I am probably better of getting a PS5 and then jump on the 4000 series when that becomes available.

Or just buy a 3070.

Yeah, we may potentially be a quarter of the way through Ampere's life cycle anyway :p

What an epic waste of time, I'd have dropped out the queue months ago.
