I need this before Cyberpunk 2077 arrives. Do people think a 3070 will be enough for 4k60? .

I am sure it would, as apparently you can pick different resolutions. So you could go 1080p or lower and have rt working with everything on the highest settings rendering at 1080p and upscaling to 4K. Not saying I would. I always tinker with power hungry games to optimise the image quality to performance ratio. In many cases you save a lot of grunt for turning down certain settings that make little to no difference in image quality (to the point you need to take screenshots to compare and can’t see while playing), not to mention I always turn of crap like depth of field, motion blur etc.

I'd shell out for 2080Ti performance for £500. I wouldn't enjoy doing so and I don't think it'll happen, but I want 4k60 for Flight Simulator but can't bring myself to spend £1k for the pleasure.

Have any specifications been released for the 3080 Ti yet?

I'm considering swapping out my 1080Ti for a 2080Ti. Paid £710 in March 2018 for an EVGA 1080Ti gaming black. If I can sell it for around £500 and get a 2080Ti for around £750 that should see me through a couple of years.
I usually ended up doing this, 2 year sell and purchase the next card up for £200 - £300

Holding out for a 3080Ti will likely cost £2000 which is quite a difference

Nvidia realised a long time ago they arent a charity and people will pay whatever they dictate each gen for their cards as they have little competition.

Plus they need to make hay while the sun shines as i expect many pc gamers to finally have enough of the ever increasing cost of PC gaming and just go PS5 and XSX this gen.

Intel and Nvidia finally managing to kill the golden goose, even AMD tried to get some of that pie with some of their ridiculous GPU prices at times, luckily their CPU division is sensible

If this is true I might aswell sell up and get a 2080Ti which is ~45% faster than my 1080Ti.
A 3080ti only 15% faster than a 2080ti would (I expect) not be enough to tempt the majority of the 2080ti owners to upgrade

Can't see it happening as they would be very poor value compared to consoles. 3070 should be close to or at/better than 2080Ti and better than next gen consoles, and those prices are too high.

Yup it does seem strange that so far only Apple have realized that the number 11 follows 10, but with NVidia already having the 20XX series i suppose 21XX would be too much for hope for so 30xx would be the next logical choice.

I can't see it, the 3800x 3950x would confused with a rtx 3080 in my opinion

After looking at the latest GPU prices i don't think they care

Over the last month or so where most people had pay cuts. Lost there jobs, Not working, etc GPU's have gone up £100 or so

Yes, it's surprising how many people don't get this.

Let's say you spend £1,000 every 3 years. That's a little under £30 a month. Or you buy a £300 GPU every year. That's also a little under £30 a month. In fact, the difference is less than £3 per month.
