NVIDIA ‘Ampere’ 8nm Graphics Cards

That is great news !!!
So far Dirt 5 will be 120hz game on xbox series x
Will that include HDR and Freesync? Not sure yet.
But it did look like there was some ray tracing going on though.

Edit:
On the occasion of today's Xbox live stream, Codemasters announced with a video the new DIRT 5, with which the software house shows us some spectacular game sequences that portray powerful cars whizzing through streets and paths full of mud. All seasoned with spectacular graphics enhanced even more by ray tracing technology.

Wow, console games will have elements of ray tracing and still do 120fps. Well that caught me flat footed.

120hz + HDR & VRR is no problem, that will happen. As for ray tracing, 100% not happening @ 120 fps and we have not seen it (in fact it doesn't appear in the trailer). Keep in mind tho that there's always an asterisk when it comes to ray-tracing. Technically World of Tanks has ray tracing... but if you look at what it is you'll know why it's just a ploy for marketing.

I hope rayvtracing doesn't turn into a worthless buzzword. On pc so many games are using these junk reshade filters and calling it rayvtracing

If it does become a buzzword, it'll be because consoles aren't capable of advanced forms of Raytracing at high enough framerate, and thus the PC version of multiplatform games will also be downgraded to "maintain parity".

I'm already concerned that Cyberpunk will use a very basic implementation - with the trailers potentially having been exaggerated as we saw with The Witcher 3 - and then they will simply refuse to further improve RT in the game or neglect to make an enhanced version to improve visual effects for the PC as they did with Witcher games prior to 3.

RT will not be a worthless buzzword... if games want to reach new levels of realism then they will need to use it. Just as light is critical to how a photo turns out, it is also critical to creating immersive and believable virtual environments. Shadows and reflections created using detailed RT will provide new levels of realism, especially in VR. New technologies take time to learn and use and I think this generation is where it will really take off.

It’s also the case imho once you are able to drive 4k at high frame rates the only places left to go are visual quality and VR head mounted displays. Whilst I’ve no doubt higher resolutions will come its will be ages before anyone actually needs an 8k display on their desk or on their living room

Good luck amd and Nvidia launching gpu's in the worst worldwide recession ever. The UK's unemployment is about to rise by millions when the furlough payments end. Got a feeling demand will not outstrip supply.

Not sure with the current circumstances they can just end furlough payments and have millions going unemployed and onto UC - the civil unrest would be massive. Though wouldn't put it past this government to be too short sighted to see that coming.

Didnt they already say they will cut furlough payments and only cover 60% pay ?

Most likely taper furlough for a couple of months. Then companies will make many people redundant. Going to be a brutal 12 months.

Plenty of 800 quid gpu's will be gathering dust on a shelf. Look out for Gibbo's "recession deals"

Good thing the rest of the world doesn’t exist.

The euro economy is about dive into the ground at a 1000mph, while the US unemployment rate has hit 'the great depression levels'. This is the calm before the storm. No country will be immune to the economic fall out.

Will be interesting to see how Nvidia react with their premium pricing.

Think boxing day sales will see some good deals this year that's for sure, and I mean proper deals unlike we are seeing at the moment.
