Even in a massive downturn there are winners and losers - I doubt they will have to change the price much on the top end GPUs though suspect the mid-range will probably have to be priced more in accordance to the circumstances.
Thanks for reminding me as i was looking at throwing a few K at ordering some motorbike stuff this weekend..Absolutely, I'm sitting tight on my cash for the genuine bargains which will definitely be around. Tech is one of the first sectors to take a hit in a downturn, and the one will be a whopper.
RT will not be a worthless buzzword... if games want to reach new levels of realism then they will need to use it. Just as light is critical to how a photo turns out, it is also critical to creating immersive and believable virtual environments. Shadows and reflections created using detailed RT will provide new levels of realism, especially in VR. New technologies take time to learn and use and I think this generation is where it will really take off.
If the 3080ti is more expensive than the 2080ti was, then Nvidia have lost the plot.
(and we'll probably end up buying it)
I've actually started just 'ultrawiding' my games now. Set a custom resolution of 3840x1800 and whenever you need extra FPS, just use the custom resolution instead. Sure you get black bars, but in return you better FPS, better FOV.

How long will it be until they're shipping and we can order?
Might be super tempted, well I will be super tempted, depending on reviews.
that I'm not sure, but most say around the September time at the earliest could be up to the end of the year, but no one knows for sure, we'll hopefully find out all that info on the 14th
I hope before we can order we'll hear from AMD's offering.
I'm probably going to embarass myself here, but I'm going to make a bold prediction: if the 3080 Ti is released next week, it will be for around £1,000. And there will be plenty of people who will buy it at that price if it reviews well. But after the release of the consoles it will be reduced to about the same price as the consoles.

Why would the price reduce after the consoles are out?
The consoles can't even keep up with the 2080ti.
