NVIDIA ‘Ampere’ 8nm Graphics Cards

The only accurate statement in this THREAD is

"We don't the know the details"

We don't know the price of the GPUs from either AMD or NVidia.
We don't know the performance of the GPUs from either AMD or Nvidia.
We don't know what the power consumption will be, we certainly can't base it off any information from the PS5.

And you certainly can't guarantee any of the things you said.

oh, Just Vega and Fury to poke fun at? What about Tahiti? Hawaii? Polaris? None of those launches went very well at all. AMD can't have another bad launch.

So true, so very true.
Oh yes and I fixed that for you.;)

More seriously, you are quite right AMD has to get this one right, they cannot afford another **** up like they keep seeming to do. Of course in the same breath NVidia has to have a smooth launch with no space invaders or leaf blower coolers. So I do hope that this aparent new push pull cooler design works well, even though it still looks like the V shaped fins block airflow.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Massive Heatsink Leaks Out, All Alumninum Fin Design With Four Massive Heatpipes

That is 3d printed. Whether it is fake or something they were doing for test fitting IDK, but look closely at the state of it.

Was being facetious. We’d be beyond naive if we didn’t believe that nvidia partners with close access to AMD information didn’t pass it along.

Yes there is no doubt that each side knows what the other side is bringing to the table, before they are announced, despite the close nit secrecy behind it all. Maybe not the adjustable things like clock speeds ETC, but the general performance window of the cards certainly.

Look at the size of the screwdriver to the size of the heatsink and compare these things are massive.

Its a slim screwdriver, I was looking more at the pencil.
They look normal sized to me.

Certainly an different design, it will be interesting to see how well it works.

Its at least 4 "fist" sizes :) long judging by the hand of the screwdriver. Anyone know chinese or Japanese and read the text on the box ?

Looks like something Don then underneath something ending in king.

Assuming you're talking filament print, it's too blurry to see individual layer lines.

You don't need to, just concentrate on the howling inconsistencies.

I don't think they are fake. I just think they are 3d printed for testing purposes.

They all look the same to me. The middle and right hand side ones are obviously from a slightly different angle, that's all.

The one on the left may have been damaged slightly at the bottom edge.

True they could just be 3D models so they can run up a mock up for someone to hold up at a Virtual Conference. Bit like when they show the latest Xbox playing games when round the back is a PC actually doing it. :D

Man you don't have sharp eyes huh? look at where I put the red 1. Then look at the card next to it where I put the 2. The fins go in totally different directions :D

That is not part of a $150 cooler, trust me. Also (and I didn't circle this) you can clearly see where the printer left fuzzies at the end of parts. I mean sure it is not the clearest picture ever but with it being black and on a white background it is extremely easy to spot that it's a print.

:p Using a laptop which might explain it. Still think you might be wrong but we shall see.

If I am wrong then the quality is going to be terrible lol. Like I said I am not claiming they are "fake" because Nvidia have launched an investigation. Otherwise they would just do what AMD did recently when BS was going around and come out and call it.

3D printers are a huge part and parcel of all design now. Why would you commit and start carving up metal when you can just leave it printing?

I agree it looks plastic, either that or its powder coated. Where it says 3 in red on all 3 shows the most difference. They will be plastic mock ups.

If they powder coated alu then they are noobs. It would totally kill all of the heat dissipation, even more so in black (which absorbs heat). It would need to be anodised. Which is probably what it will be.

They look identical or near identical enough to me too. I really don't care though, at the end of the day people will look at price, performance, features, power draw. This cooler saga is just a red-herring.

All signs pointing towards a big fat old % increase in price again... Shame.

Definitely looking forward to what AMD bring if that's the case, I'm looking to upgrade my 1080 currently but I simply refuse to spend over 1k on a card.
