NVIDIA ‘Ampere’ 8nm Graphics Cards

It's not too bad, albeit awkward for air cooling the CPU I imagine. What I'm curious is, do the supposed prices have the 20/16GB variants in mind or will that be extra? And will the 3070 be = 2080 ti in performance. Hmmm.

I'm interested to see what happens with regards to "reference PCBs".

In the past, the founders edition has usually served to provide the "reference PCB" design. Whilst some third parties then design their own boards, the reference provides a baseline which will have the most support for things like waterblocks.

This time round, it looks like the founders edition is going to have a weird shaped PCB (with the 'chevron' cutout at the end) and the new 12-pin power connectors, whereas most aftermarket cards are far more likely to stick with a rectangular PCB and 8-pin power connectors for ease of manufacture and maximum compatibility.

This raises the question of what will the "reference PCB" be? It can't really be the founders one as hardly any other manufacturer will use it. Are NVidia going to provide a separate "reference" PCB to third-parties to function as the standard?

Concerned about this as my mantra is buy the cheapest core as the fancy cards don't make a difference these days with OC head room and slap a block on it. But what 3000 series card with a view to water cooling( I mean i'll probably need the RTX 3080 for a perf uplift) do I get?
