NVIDIA ‘Ampere’ 8nm Graphics Cards

I’m just after something that will steadily run FS2020 at 60fps, ultra detail at 1440p, over the entire world. No dips in cities.
Am Guessing you need something roughly twice the speed of a 2080ti then :D

As my 2080ti with ultra detail settings at 3440x1440 gives me around 27FPS to 30FPS

The nest sink on that :D how many slots is that going to take up ?

That's probably an asus strix current gen just to show the differences in pcie connector sizes. It's said earlier in the thread the cooler on the 3XX series is 2.75 slots, so essentially a 3 slot cooler.

My old MSI 2080 Ti Gaming X Trio was 327mm long I believe and also had 2 x 8 pin and 1 x 6 pin power connector.

These dimensions are nothing new.

+1 my case dates from the last time things were really crazy:
Maximum Expansion Card Length 334mm (with HDD cage) / 487mm (with HDD cage removed)

That is a lot of crazy before it won't fit in that cavern.

Edit even my mid-tower case is 293mm with cage, 423mm without cage.

Pretty lucky with my Evolv X, apart from an AIO everything is air cooled, so my max GPU length seems to be 435mm without touching anything. Plenty of space to spare :)

Just saw a post that said if you buy the Founders' Edition you will need to plug 3 8pins into the adapter, making a grand total of 5 8pins needed? That can't be right.

Sorry, is there going to be a 3080Ti or is the 3090 the direct replacement of the 2080Ti?
Probably not at launch, 3090 is just a marketing term to blur the lines at the high end whilst charging more. Nvidia hate direct comparisons as it tends to expose their games.

I wouldn't put it past Nvidia to build a 3080Ti next year on TSMC price it just above the 3080 (which will probably be forced down in price post release) and give you almost 3090 performance. You'll then have a merry bunch of 3090 owners wondering where they mislaid £500 but its ok cos they are already eying up a shiny new Titan or declaring bankruptcy :D

Just saw a post saying that each Ampere GPU will need a total of 247 6 pin adapters to power it, making a grand total or 1254 2.5 pins needed? That can't be right.

A lot of my friends around the world are hitting Nvidia twitter.
Saying "Thank you for the £800 3080Ti\3090" lets see if they answer :)

I think that means that cards are either gonna ship with standard PCIe power plugs or the new 12 pin... So in your example, that would mean that the total would be 3x8 Pin for a total of 525 max watts, 3x150 watts + 75watts from the PCIe socket. Some PSUs are actually able to supply up to 300watts on a single 8pin(outside spec though).
