Nvidia disables PhysX when ATI card is present with an Nvidia card for windows 7.

PhysX is a proprietary, Nvidia owned technology - and as has been proven by this recent incident Nvidia is not exactly afraid to cut out systems that have ATi cards in despite the fact that technologically speaking an ATi rendering Nvidia doing physX setup is proven to work. Given this knowledge, what on Earth compels you to believe, even for a moment, that Nvidia would actually allow AMD to implement PhysX on their cards? Petition or no petition it's not going to happen!
Ahhhhhh nVidia, proving once again that you are indeed petty & vile. Keep up the good work!
I do like NVIDIA, I really do. Lord knows I have had enough of their products, but their continuing, as you describe it vile behaviour pushes me further and further away from ever purchasing one of their products again.

nVidia did offer to open up physx to ATI... ATI didn't take them up on it and despite this happening I still see that as a bad thing... due to the nature of the API they couldn't effectively just shut ATI out at a later date (had ATI taken them up on it).
NV are talking complete crap as regards to using the gfx card as physics processor with other vendor cards as the NV card is just another computation device just like the CPU when doing physics but only quicker at it.
You don't see Intel saying that Its CPU does not work with ATI/AMD gfx cards when running Havok nether did you see Ageia saying anything of the sort.

AFAIK ATi stated that nVidia had never actually approached them on this issue, it was all a media stunt. Besides ATi did state that they'd rather take on a more open approach such as OpenCL
(which I gather Havok is being absorbed into too)

If intel had the same train of thought as nVidia they would disable ati cards from intel platforms as there owned by AMD, thank god the retardation of nVidia appears not to be spreading.
nVidia really has to grow up & accept competition is a fact of life & all there attempts to reduce there oppositions sales just shoots themselves in the foot.
I expect they see a decline in 9600 & the like sales because of this & more developers not bothering with PhysX.

Yeah they should just disable Physx and CUDA when an ATi card is present. Then they can blame it on AMD GO NVIDIA!!
... No seriously they are just fools, it's obvious they wont there own in house complete bull **** solution for taking over the world, but it will only work with a green sticker. ATi have taken the sensible route going open standard with apple and Intel.
It's a shame Intel and ATi cannot work more closely on RTRT, but I think Intel have that covered anyway's and we should see some very interesting things on the RT Intel front in the next 3-5 Years.

half the stuff that is enabled when PhysX is enabled in that game is great but runs like **** on ati hardware obvious but most of the stuff with is disabled could have been done without useing physX
i mean the visual diffrence is apparent, where by no longer does the game look the same with it on or off in that game
