Nvidia fan thinking of turning

SLI is a brand name, it is not a technical description
Scalable Link Interface is just a backronym for when Scan Line Interleave stopped being appropriate but they wanted to maintain the trademark

I am being pedantic... because you are wrong

anything else you say does not change the fact that SLI is a trademark of nvidia corporation so AMD by very definition can't include SLI options in their drivers... which I originally posted as a joke but jesus didn't you have to drain all the fun out of that one

I don't really think most people on here really fall into an AMD crowd and a nVidia crowd though humbug.

You can't really cheapen the debate by applying a fanboy/crowd tag to people and claim it inconveniences them as that is a little immature.

If somebody has an issue with AMD drivers and have switched you can't really label them as "nVidia crowd" and tell them they're talking nonsense.

However, I agree that generalising posts such as "AMD/nVidia drivers are terrible" aren't constructive in the slightest.

A valid AMD driver issue would be that only now with 12.8's has AMD's BF3 performance been in line with what the cards can truly deliver.

A valid nVidia driver issue would be that for some people games were unplayable due to a form of stuttering.

You need to be careful that's all when referring to peoples actual experiences as nonsense as you can come across as a little obtuse.

The biggest problem is people seeing a problem as a black and white thing and not that problems can have different degrees of severity and impact and how responsive the different companies are to these problems and how that affects the customer experience in an overall sense.

You must think i'm stupid, there is nothing to elaborate. Its a generalization, not aimed at anyone or anything specific.

Stop looking for ways to start fights

I've already laid bare the flaw of certain types of generalisations. So has Final8y.

If you think that disagreeing and/or holding a discussion on an internet forum is a way of starting a fight then there are numerous home remedies I can suggest for you to alleviate this kind of paranoia :D

I agree.

what, does anyone understand this ! you should be on Newsnight

I'm beginning to see that. :D

To be fair I wouldn't take comfort from anything Mal says :D.

After all this is the person who asked for advice on how to overclock a GPU, ignored it all and then over volted it so much that he caused it to, I quote: "spark".

He then gives advice on how to overclock including voltage manipulations.

He's also been suspended more times than I can count.

Be very careful, very careful ;).

But he is extremely funny so there is that on his side.

yes it's true, but i actually quite like him, he does take a joke well, he's the guy that brought the GTX 680 just before the much cheaper GTX 670 came out, so i suppose he's entitled to get a bit sulky sometimes :D ;)

I bought it on release day actually. The 670 was months away at that point. Also, "I'm rich, you know?"

(If you haven't played Guild Wars 2 and miss the joke don't reply!)

If I had to choose a graphics card today I would go for a GTX 680 everytime over a GTX 670 (I want every bit of performance I can get before thinking about ocing).

At the moment I am looking at the msi lightning for one of my other PCs but can't really justify it as I don't use the machine enough.
