Shouldn't this be in the monitor section? 3D monitors are in the monitor section even though they only work on nvidia cards. Why are gsync monitors different? They are still monitors.
Like when freesync monitors start appearing will there be an owners thread in the graphic card forum as well? I hope not.
Please keep the monitor threads in the monitor section.
I thought about putting this thread in the monitor section but as it is specific to nVidia, it will probably be better off being her
James what games do you play? Really interested to see how well GSYNC works with games like ARMA 3 where FPS can be quite low and fluctuate a lot.
Not tried ARMA but I do play other FPS games like BF4, bulletstorm, shadow warrior and rise of the triad to give you a few examples of games that vary in terms of graphics and speed. All of them work beautifully with gsync, but I never dip below 35 fps in anything I play, so I'm bound to get the best experience anyway.
Gsync will become a problem if your hardware cannot do 30fps min as you'll notice a flicker on your screen as the refresh rate gets low enough for you to see it. Obviously at that point, with or without gsync, you should look at turning something down to get a better experience.
The first thing everyone will notice who uses gsync for the first time (doesn't matter what game either) is how "static" the image is. This is simply due to the complete lack of stutter and tearing. That combined with vsync off input lag, is a rather nice mixture.
It was you more so that got me wanting G-Sync, purely because of your early comments about the tech.
I am looking forward to this tech in a big way.
I hope I do.
I think first off I'm going to spend a few hours gaming with it disabled, hopefully the impact will be bigger when I do choose to enable it
Why does it offend you so much, if you dont like it dont post in it.
There are Freesync threads in the graphics card section though.
G-Sync as I understand it requires a compatible monitor and graphics card. It won't work without the graphics card any more than it works without a monitor.
So I'd say it's 50/50 as to where it should go.
I believe there are also True Audio threads in the Graphics card section.
We've also got "upcoming games" threads in the graphics cards section just because they use an API that sort of related to graphics cards. Why are they different?
You forgot the drivers threads, maybe they should be in the Windows & other software thread, or all this discussion of Afterburner, Rivatuner, Precision X should be in the overclocking section.
Thinking about it, the Mantle stuff really should be in the Windows & other software as it works on APU's and GPU's from AMD.
Its an Nvidia only technology that requires an Nvidia GPU to use in the first place. Thats why gsync technology still has a place in the graphics sub forum.

What? don't be stupid. They are all graphics tech and I have no problem with any of that, or discussing Gsync. Why would I? This thread isn't discussing Gync, this is a thread for owners of Monitors. Last I checked this wasn't the monitor subsection. Again, sure, you need a NVidia card to use the them, but it's no different than 3D.
3D is specific to Nvidia but I think an owners thread for 3D monitors would be moved pretty quickly to the monitor section. This thread is for the owners of Gsync monitors. Should be in the monitor section.
I am going to quote this to you on every thread you post a question or a negative comment.
I have no problems discussing the technology, but this isn't discussing the technology, it's an owner thread for monitors. If, as according to the title, it's a gsync owners thread, then everyone who has a kepler card is an owner and they should all post their cards up.
Again, I make reference to 3D, you don't see a 3D owners thread in the graphic card section.
This is about owning the monitors, sure they make use of a technology on NVidia's cards, but they are still monitors.

Yes and there is whole thread on Gsync, and it's a great tech and hope it works as well as advertised. When prices come down I might look into buying a Gsync monitor. But this isn't thread discussing gsync, its a thread for owners of the monitor. Which should be in the monitors section.

If it offends people that much, I will get it moved to the monitor section. My aim was to also see who had pre-ordered and start an owners thread. Sorry if people feel this is in the wrong section and happy to get it moved.
It is one person complaining mate, ignore it, if anything get the thread tidied up so that we can get back to discussing and imminently reviewing gsync
