i found this the most interesting part of the review...

the simple fact that if you could hold off from purchasing a graphics card just before Christmas you can hold off until we see the new NVIDIA based DX10 cards come in January.

which cards is he talking about? -surely not the 9800GTX

Is 512mb enough memory for 1080 gaming? Seems a bit strange having a 640 GTS an even bigger GTX and the new card back to 512mb, is there an argument for a 1GB card is it that overkill?

Nice find shrek :) wonder what the price will be here in The Netherlands, dunno if I should get a GT or a GTS when they get back in store here (2/3 weeks).

1gb would be usefull its just costly. Programmers are trying to find ways to reduce texture memory usage because its rising at a stupid rate

It's actually cooler and quieter than a GT as well which is good news. Albeit just a little bit cooler. It does looks a really good upgrade from a GT, but if the price is much over £200 it's not going to be worth it over a GT which you can either overclock yourself or leave and stock and pay much less.

And why even release a review without Crysis benches these days? Even if they may add it later, why not just do it before putting it up? Lets face it, that game is THE new benchmark for cards...

Agreed.

And I don't believe that guff about we couldnt find a GTX to put up against it either.

It looks OK, but not enough of a difference to make me upgrade - want to see how it OC's though. I agree with the various comments regarding the entire card range, nvidia only seem to do either ***p or 4 diffferent ranges of very good, their mid range has disappeared...

I think he's talking about the card with 2 8800gt joined together (not sure of the name but I think it's coming out to compete with the double hd3870 which will be released at the same time).

I'm sticking with my GT, the GTS has nowhere near enough performance increase over it to make it worthwhile selling my GT for it, once you overclock your GT the performance gap will be negligible.

eh, so whats the point of these cards then because they pratically perform the same as the GT which is practically the same as the GTX which..........., I'm confused, so now we have 8800GT, 8800GTX and now 8800GTS(g92) and they all pretty much perform within a 10% margin of each other , there really isn't a big enough performance gap between these cards tbh.

Does this really matter all that much when they all offer high end perfromance at mid range prices?

Surely your key buying decision should be based on the resolution you game at and price.

Ive never seen such a strong line up from one manufacturer at such good prices.

From that review, this is what I think.

If you have an 8800GT, no point upgrading, the difference is not big enough to warrant an upgrade, but its a nice card for people upgrading from an 8800GTS1.

And it could be 50 quid more than a GT aswell.

Anyone know if they are based on the same board design as the 8800 GT? Wondering if the Accelero and/or VF900-CU will still fit on these boards for a cheap aftermarket alternative. Guess it's the same for the HR03-GT and will that fit, although it's not cheap :P

They need to have a bigger bus width and more memory, but developers should really code their games so they don't have to do it like that.

But does this actually have the 128 shaders? Should show a huge improvement with overclocked then, and dual slot cooler :D

from what i see on there there isnt much between the 8800's & 3870 under vista but the new gts should retail around £180 to £200 aslong as these silly premiums don't get added on.
Also, im sure gibbo said that card isnt bundled with crysis??
