**Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Thread**

Two months old speculation? Expected new info.

Some info online but not a lot yet . I figured it would be a decent time to start a thread.

A 1080Ti would ***** my interest to get it and a new screen to go 4k for the first time.

If the pascal titan is a good 4k card then the Ti, if it's same scenario as previous gen where the Ti beats the titan, then the 1080Ti will indeed be a 4k60 card

If there is to be a 1080Ti in the pipeline, what is it going up against from AMD? Surely they won't have anything that will even get close to a Ti performance?

Depending on cost, a decent upgrade for me would be the 1080Ti, but then I'd have to get a new monitor too...decisions decisions :p

If this card comes out january i get the feeling it will have one of the shortest shelf lifes in history.

I'd have to agree. It'll be no time before the 11** series is out. I'll bet my bottom dollar though that there won't will be much of an improvement over the 10**series...10% at most. Unless AMD's offering is decent, Nvidia will shaft us for a long time to come.

To be fair a 1080Ti card will be plenty for most people....people that can afford to buy it in the first place though (It'll cost the bloody earth I bet)

Lets be realistic here. The 1080Ti aint guna be no where near the price of the 980Ti. The Titan X (P) is £1099 ($1200) so realistically its going to be around £800 probably on the higher end of £800 on release.

980Ti on release was $649 and in the UK you could get one around £560? however the 1080 was $599 on release which is a measly $50 difference. Im guessing the 1080Ti is going to be around $849 on release. There is almost certainly going to be a £200 quid difference between the 980Ti and 1080Ti on release prices in the UK. That just a massive difference but its okay because it will be faster lol.

Titan X $1200 (£1099)
1080 $649 (£619)
1070 $449 (£399)

My assumption 1080Ti is going to be $849 to $900 (£809 to £859)

I'm calling the Ti to be £899 - Basically £900 but without the mental £900 barrier being broken. Classic shopping tactic to get you to buy.

I was planning on buying a 1080Ti when they were released but now I'm starting to think it might be a better idea to wait until the next generation of GPUs comes out. I mean my 980Ti still seems to cope well with the games I play at 1440p so why the rush to upgrade? I don't think I've found a game that struggles on my 980Ti but then again most of the games I play are more CPU heavy than GPU heavy. I can stream Elder Scrolls Online with max graphics quite easily.

Maybe one of these days I'll upgrade to a 4k monitor and if I do that I'll certainly need an upgrade then but I don't see that happening for a few years.

Yeah I can't say I'm going to shift from 980ti to a 1080ti myself, might wait until 1180...then buy a 1080ti :p

Post up what you think the 1080Ti will cost and your reasons for it

I think £899

a: The usual marketing trap of basically being 900 quid but because the price starts with the 8, then you think it's cheaper even though it's only a quid. Classic sales trick

b: Nvidia tax on GPUs. They always charge a premium and if the 1080 is 600 or 700 odd quid and the Titan P is 1100 then they will hit the middle of those price brackets.
