The current 980 is roughly £500? So that means the 980Ti will be closer to £600-£700? Doesn't this put it too close to Titan X territory to make it a worthy purchase? I understand the 980 prices will drop slightly when the 980Ti is released but enough to pay out the extra for the Ti? I don't think so tbh.

I would have thought 980s would drop to 400 and 980ti would be 5-550, maybe 600 at a push...

my new cooler fits nearly all of the Nvidia cards, it has other mounting holes for AMDs

the 970 Asus Strix will fit Titan X :D and that's a really nice all metal cooler, pure quality........ something tells me i havent finished fooling around yet

but there is a problem, without support the Board is very flimsy, so you really do need a backing plate

I think the 980s will stay around 450 pounds and the new GM200 cards will sell for between 550 to 600 pounds.

£600 for a 15% performance boost over a 980 at £450 is not appealing to many, surely? Even with another 2gb of Vram it's only going to appeal to the 4k market and you'd expect them to have their eye on a Titan X for more grunt and even more vram?

I can't see the sense in it, but then again there are people buying 970s for £300 and over so who knows.

I suppose it makes my 980s good for another year at least, which should make me happy but my upgrade gene disagrees! :D

980SLi is a really good setup tbh, and I'd expect it to last me at least till the end of the year using 4k (and knocking the odd setting down) :)

I don't do much gaming in the Summer months, so will be looking at 390X etc towards the end of the year when pricing has settled

The Titan X is 33% non OCed and 50%+ OCed (air) vs the GTX980.

It will probably be 20% non OCed and more than 40% OCed. Then you also have custom PCBs , better cooling solutions and 6GB vs the 4GB of the GTX980.

What is the point in comparing an OC'd card against a card at stock? If the end user is prepared to OC the Titan, then they'll obviously OC the 980 so the performance boost will never be 50%.

If the price is right, and it comes close to the 390X perfomance wise, I may buy 2 in SLI at 500 euro's per piece.

First I have to hope AMD picks up slack and releases a juggernaut of a card so nvidia is forced to get their absurd prices back in line.

How about:
960 150 euro's
970 250 euro's
980 350 euro's
980 TI 500 euro's
Titan X 700 euro's

Hell... this is still too expensive considering every one of these cards are getting choked on 4k max settings. We are expected to pay in the thousands and still not able to max out our games at reasonable frames at 4k.

Gone are the days of high-end cards for affordable budget prices when I bought a revised 8800 GTS for 250 euro's, and I could demolish every imaginable game at that time.

those prices are mental. You're smoking something if you think those prices will ever exist....
In case nobody wants to convert, he wants the TX to cost £500 - and that's still too expensive, what?

it is too expensive, now saying that i have considered buying a titan, its too expensive but i buy loads of items that are "too expensive". it doesn't change the fact that at the moment we are getting short end of the stick g/cards wise , they definitely cost too much.:)
