**Nvidia GeForce GTX 980 Ti Review Thread**

Then the rats who run the rat race the fasted are welcome to it.

This isn't Dragon Eggs we are talking about here. This is a mass produced consumer product, produced in large numbers, to be sold in large numbers. People scrambling and clawing over each other to grab one of these asap are suckers.

AMD Fiji XT around the corner.

All the reviews state that it would be wise to hold of on new GPU upgrades until them. They know something but cannot say in as many words. Nvidia know something as well, hence getting in first, before the trade shows with thier GTX 980 ti.

There will be plentiful supplies of both red and green high end GPUs.

Agreed, but if I was financially comfortable enough I would probably buy one as soon as it was out then sell it if the AMD was better.

Jesus those cards look amazing. Wanted EVGA cus the coolers have always looked the best but they've got some serious competition this time around. Do people know which manufacturer they're going with or is it going to be a mad dash for whichever is in stock?

EVGA hydro are my usual go to but depends on pricing whether to get EVGA SC and EK blocks.

Personally, I've always been a Nvidia fan, whilst I accept AMD are awesome in their own ways, it's simply down to personal preference. Me scrambling for this card is nothing more than excitement for my own silly gains. This is a hobby of mine and I've been stuck with my 780 for ages and finally, the 980ti is a worthy upgrade.

So yea, I am excited and wanting to toy around with a new toy asap.

I just looked at the receipt for my 8800gtx which I bought a couple of months after its launch and I paid £334 before postage:

BFG GeForce 768MB 8800GTX 1 £285.00 £285.00
PCI-E(x16), Mem 1800MHz, GPU
600MHz 128 Stream Process
2xDual Link DVI-I/HDTV
======================================================================
Subtotal: £285.00
Shipping (2 -3 Days Initial City Link): £6.95
VAT: £51.10
Total: £343.05

Ye sry my mistake just checked my account £380 ish, total bill was £470
So we have the 7970 to thank for big rises then :p

? No, you need to adjust for Nvidia's brilliant manipulation of the graphics card market and the seemingly large amount of people that are silly enough to A. Buy the Titan cards and B. Get taken in by that "halo pricing" of the Titan cards and therefore think the 980Ti at £550+ is a good deal - "Pfft look at that silly priced Titan X at £800, the 980Ti for £550 - now that is a great deal..."

Nvidia's pricing and marketing has been an absolute business masterstroke in recent years. It is a shame so many people have been taken in by it and actually pay the outrageous prices they are asking. If they didn't, we would have 980Ti's being released at the £400 mark (ie what the top tier cards used to be priced at)

Of course AMD's lack of competition is not helping either.

+1 glad someone else see's it this way

This has been Nvidia's plan all along on how they use the TX as a carrot they have the market playground and good on them in terms of business strategy.... but people are being hooked in and think its a bargain

the 980ti should be no more than £449
