**Nvidia GeForce GTX 980 Ti Review Thread**

I know! I'm glad it's not just me.

I just don't get it. Unless you're going to be sticking your rig up above you on a shelf or something, most people are probably going to be looking at the backplate and the side of their cards most of the time. Yet it often seems like an afterthought with all the effort going into making the cooler look great, the bit facing the ground.

It's like designing shoes and putting all the design into the soles.

I assume it all went wrong in the design of the Main-board layout i am sure this happened when atx became stranded ...the cards should be faced up not down.....

i am so tempted to switch my 2 kaf2 980 socs with 2 980 Tis so I can have aaa games running at 90 fps instead of 60 ish in 1440p Just wating and praying for an AIO 980 ti the I will commit!

I'm starting to wonder what all the fuss is about with this card, it's what 8 - 12 fps faster than a normal 980 but runs hotter, louder and uses more power. Not worth the extra cash and not worth upgrading from a normal 980 given the hit in resale value

If a TX is significantly faster (~25-30%) than a 980, then so is a 980Ti. It's more of an upgrade path for those using the GTX 7xx series and under, only that you don't have to pay TX price to get TX performance. That's where the fuss comes from.

It's going to be hard holding off to see AMDs offerings even though it's the smart thing to do. I've been frustrated for a while now having been reduced to a single 670.

I especially like the look of the asus (depending on performance of course). One thing that annoys me with these reveals is why can't they show the side view of these cards? Y'know, the bit you'll probably end up seeing the most of.
Oh you're not the only one, it annoys me to no end.

Although I have spotted the Asus strix 980 TI here.

Seeing the RoG led logo blocked by their own RoG SLI bridge is a big FAIL though! :p

That's the poseidon hybrid one, right? I'm wondering about the Direct CUIII or whatever it's called. From the look of the images so far, it looks like it has one massive heatpipe though I guess it'll be pretty similar to the poseidon

That's good to know. Luckily even know I use an H440 chassis, the system is near a window that's always open a bit.

That looks so much better than when you first ran it. Seems odd that it's doing better on a higher clock. Maybe it just needed to be broken in a bit? :p

JayzTwoCents review with all the cards clocked at 1400Mhz.

Finally a reviewer that has half a brain, doing clock to clock and not some gimped "lower boost TX" vs "higher boosting GTX980Ti" nonsense.

Inb4 the inevitable "but custom 980ti's will clock higher".

Well good luck getting 1500mhz without throttling without custom bios and even then it won't be game stable :D

I'm now waiting for someone to come along and beat my 3dmark firestrike extreme GFX score with an air cooled 980ti and then quote this post to prove me wrong lol.
