**Nvidia GeForce GTX 980 Ti Review Thread**

Auto actually.. which makes things much better now..and all this is with a boost clock of 1400 on stock voltage with powerlimit set to 110%

Good shout. I only run a 1:1 fan profile for benching purposes but for day to day gaming, I don't bother with any overclocking software and just leave the default NVidia fan profile that is in the drivers. I can't hear it at all like this and I am watercooled except for the GPU.

Gonna run firestrike again and see how it does.. should hopefully be a bit better this time around.

^ Indeed, my overclocked MSI gaming 980 doesn't go over 65 degrees under full load, and that is on the stock fan profile as well. It is also pretty much silent.

I think i would miss not having something so cool running and quiet in future.
Yep I agree. I think I will hold off for a while before touching this card. I want to see what MSI, Asus or anyone else for that matter can do with a custom cooler on it. I'm willing to compromise for a 70-75c, but not 80c+ thats just way too much and leaves little room for everything else.

OC3D.net tested the GPU inside a normal PC chassis and recorded these temps if folks are interested. Fan was at 50% with a peak output of 84 degrees while OC'd

Looks about right for the MSI gaming and the Titan X to me and goes with my findings.

That's good to know. Luckily even know I use an H440 chassis, the system is near a window that's always open a bit.

New firestrike run done with +211 on the core (1400mhz effective) and 104 on the memory. 15653 score, 19575 GPU score. Max temps were 85 and fanspeed didnt go above 56%.

That looks so much better than when you first ran it. Seems odd that it's doing better on a higher clock. Maybe it just needed to be broken in a bit? :p

JayzTwoCents review with all the cards clocked at 1400Mhz.

I'm starting to wonder what all the fuss is about with this card, it's what 8 - 12 fps faster than a normal 980 but runs hotter, louder and uses more power. Not worth the extra cash and not worth upgrading from a normal 980 given the hit in resale value

Anyone want to buy a reference 290X cooler, I have 4 doing nothing !!!

Ah thought so, no takers.:D
I'll have them, since your argument appears to be that I can just downclock them, set up a custom fan profile and its magically not a negative issue anymore :p

praise allah for nvidia's cool running cards. Its not just about performance you know ;) :D

I think the same. Waiting for the single card that will play 4k to everyones liking.......

It's going to be hard holding off to see AMDs offerings even though it's the smart thing to do. I've been frustrated for a while now having been reduced to a single 670.

I especially like the look of the asus (depending on performance of course). One thing that annoys me with these reveals is why can't they show the side view of these cards? Y'know, the bit you'll probably end up seeing the most of.

I know! I'm glad it's not just me.

Uhhh? The ti will run everything at 1440p at more than acceptable frame rates with all the graphics sliders as far to the right as they'll go. You may be more tolerant of lower fps but the 980 non-ti isn't capable of this. The 980 has always been awful value for money. The 980ti is a proper step up from it for not much more money than a fancy aib 980.

That's why I'm going for the evga hybrid or gigabyte g1 or Asus strix better cooling and quiet, where are the Galax models?
