**Nvidia GeForce GTX 980 Ti Review Thread**

Why should you feel like an idiot for thinking your item would come in on the ETA shown? The sales person for the competitor told me that 'this usually happens with new graphics cards'. But then that begs the question - why the **** are you showing an ETA so soon?

Now up until today this particular competitor had an ETA of 8/6/15, but today they changed in to 'item due today'. Why would they do that if they have a backlog of 70 orders? Because they are technically getting in 5 today.

In other words, these guys are being deliberately misleading. It's a disgrace.

Yeah I knlow, I mean the ETA was the 3rd so worst case scenario add a day or two on which should be now. We were even told stock had arrived at the weekend just gone so we were are all waiting and had our orders put in, then it turned out to be just 5% of the stock had came. Now we are told check back next week, which even then no confirmation that it will happen :o

Oh get real. When a customer sees an ETA. They think, and rightly so, that that's the date they can expect to have the card (or the day after).

What's happening right now is stores are misleading customers.

I guess I have been buying and following tech long enough now to know what really happens.

I work for a company who distributes industrial IT products so have a rough idea of what is involved behind the scenes.

Suppliers let you down and there is nothing you can do about it.

Well it is 16:30 now so there go anyone's hopes of getting one delivered for tomorrow.
Looks like all of the places I have been monitoring also have not received stock yet, so it is not just OCUK.

I understand. It seems suppliers have been perpetually letting down retailers in regards to stock.

But then the responsibility lies on retailers to actually make adjustments and make clear to customers that stock will be slow initially. They need to have a more advanced ETA system based on their available stock/incoming stock/amount of orders placed.

Because in the end, retailers still get their money. Its customers that get ****ed.

Hmm, only looking for EVGA and non-reference ones? As one place has Gigabyte and Inno3D reference.

I think I mentioned them to you in a trust email yesterday.

yup just finished a live chat with Ben last delivery did not have them on board, this is very unfortunate for everyone in hopes of getting one or two for the weekend.

Weekends are mostly only the spare time most of us have because of work etc, was really hyped up for getting it this weekend especially as the football season has finished, weekends feel boring again :(

I want my new toy :p

Any idea what that place is like in regards to warranty / stock cooler removal if I have to RMA? Or could I just ship the card straight to Gigabyte in the UK?

Warranty, and cooler removal is all due to the manufacturer. So Gigabyte and the likes, plus for RMA's just deal with them and you can ship to the UK if their base is there.

agnes, in the nicest possible way - you're acting like a petulant child. Grow up.

OcUK would have put the third on for expected, because that is what they believed at the time, they now probably don't know hence the overdue status. No other retailer has them in from what I can tell, and some others have got ETA's on, but in reality I doubt anyone really knows as the manufacturers are drip feeding them.

Maybe I am a petulant child?

Yes, I'm throwing a strop, yes it's over the top. I'm just ****ed I didn't get to play with my new shiny £600 toy over the weekend after being lead to believe I would have it for the end of this week. Nor was that helped by the daily "hopefully today" information each time I spoke to CS... 'Hopefully'... Seriously? Give me something more substantial than a fart in the wind.

I see where you're coming from, I'm in the same boat, I've dropped £1130 or whatever it is, plus probably £200 worth of watercooling kit that's now sat here doing nothing.

Surely the demand for these cards were expected so you would think the suppliers etc would be more on the ball with the whole situation wouldn't you? It's like no one was prepared properly and everything feels really laid back and relaxed over it, as usual it's the customers who lose out.

I can feel the pain of not getting new toys and been there myself and temper tantrums ensue. Sometimes it is good to vent and share frustrations with others.

Exactly. If forums aren't for venting sometimes, what's the point.

And we're all petulant children. Most of us on here are grown men playing with overpriced rubbish, let's be honest :D
