**Nvidia GeForce GTX 980 Ti Review Thread**

Thinking of joining the club, but im not sure if its worth it for me. I currently have titan black sli and Im not sure how 980ti sli would compare. Would I be looking at a big performance difference or would it be quite small. I don't care about benchmarks only gaming performance.

with your rigs, i would wait for Pascal .

So is this worth getting coming from a 980? I currently have an MSI GTX980 gaming edition. It's plenty fast, but since getting a 1440p monitor, I have noticed lower frame rates.

With the fan at 60% is it quite bearable?

100% fan speed sounds like a mini tornado whooshing around, 60% is ok, just a bit smaller of a whoosh :p

I think I will mess around setting a custom fan profile in Afterburner for it because for regular desktop use it is quite audible, but in gaming you do generally forget about the noise. To be honest my R9 280X Toxic sounded louder, and it had the annoying vibrating sound on the plastic around the shroud which bugged the hell out of me so in comparison the reference cooler on this card is not too bad, but damn the temps do get hot :p

Stick some headphones on (Like most gamers do) nose becomes hardly an issue. I will stick on a custom fan curve to get up to 70c load if possible, and if worst comes to worst I will just learn how to stick on a custom cooler.

I do generally, have some Venom XT's but for testing tried without them. Might consider down the line for an aftermarket cooler but never done it on gpu so dont know what to look for really and whether it voids warranty or not.

Just chiming back in from my temps comments yesterday. The 81c-85c I was hitting was when the fan speed was on auto, yes I did change it to manual 60% but by then Afterburner had already logged the hottest temps from when it was on auto. So last night I restarted Aterburner, fan speed manual at 60% and temps were idling at around 26c, gaming temps were now around the 70c mark.

I very rarely leave fan speeds on auto but if you do then I would definitely suggest setting a manual speed or configuring a fan profile in Afterburner as it will easily knock off 10c or so off your temps.

EVGA Europe just took delivery of a number of cards, but they sold very quickly so it looks like supply is still limited. Probably going to be the same story for UK retailers at the end of the week.

I have switched from SC Reference to SC+ ACX following feedback here.

These chips are designed to run at temps in the 80's aren't they? Running the fan higher doesn't change the amount of heat the chip is outputting, it just dumps it into your room faster. As long as the card isn't throttling then there is no benefit from running the fans higher right?

Mine arrived today and it is an incredible card. I bought the reference version and have overclocked it so far by 210mhz, so clock speed is now at 1412Mhz. Witches 3 1080P at 80-100+ FPS. Highest temp 76c.

Happy with my purchase.
