**Nvidia GeForce GTX 980 Ti Review Thread**

I don't plan to overclock, is there any reason to get a Gigabyte G1 over an MSI gaming 6G? Or is the £40 ish extra for overclocking purposes mainly.

Mainly looking for cool, quiet cards.

Cheers.

Don't think there is much in it tbh. Definitely not £40 worth. Both very similar OC modes, Power phases, dual 8 pin etc. You will probably find the MSI quieter as it has less fans and they spin pretty low on auto. I went for the G1 mainly because I had that cooler on the 970 and it was awesome. The 1241MHz Base clock OC mode in that Guru3d review blows my mind too.

Thanks for the concise answer, if I were to purchase it, it would be purely out of weak spirit and not being able to wait haha. Enjoy the card!

Im so bloody annoyed by the fiasco around the EVGA GeForce GTX 980Ti Superclocked ACX 2.

Will this be in stock tomorrow?
Well they hit Germany today and so I suspect they'll reach the UK tomorrow. However numbers are likely to be low so may not even fulfil all pre-orders. This card is getting great reviews and so will be in demand.

How many of you guys are having trouble with the drivers?

Everything has been running fine for me, but today I thought I would try a little overclock in afterburner putting the core to +200 (review sites have been putting it to 300+/400+) and leaving the voltages and memory at stock, either I am going crazy or something weird is happening but I noticed the odd stuttering in games that were not there before, TW3 been the worst, even GTA V had the occasional fps drops where before there was not really any.

So not sure whether an overclock can cause that behaviour or whether it's something else but for now I am going back to stock clock speeds in the hope the problem goes away.

I really hope this isn't going to be some kind of hardware fault with the 900 series...seems to be a lot of people having trouble ATM... Dont think any issues are overclock related but to do with drivers (only 900 series though)

Watch this video from 6:19 onwards should help you get an idea of why.

You or either heat, voltage or power limited on the card.

I'm baffled how some reviewers can call 20% improvement with 980 Ti SLI good enough. Some other reviewers show decent 70% perfomance improvements, and others show little to no or even worse perfomance in SLI. Boggles my mind how SLI manages to have worse minimum frame rates in some cases.
I'm going to order after the E3. It could be either a single GTX 980 Ti G1 or dual SLI if perfomance gain is at least 60-70%. Still concerned about added input lag though, I am extremely senstitive to added input lag from DSR wich is why I never use that feature, it makes the game feel very unresponsive. Anyone any experiences to share?

Average FPS can be as much as 95% higher, minimums don't get boosted much by SLI that's true.
