This is misleading because getting stock elsewhere is EXTREME luck. Many of us are using bots that give updates within seconds of product going live and clicking through to store pages within seconds of them going live and stock is already gone in seconds. And of the thousands of people who are doing that very tiny percentage are successful. So this is just way out of alignment with reality, you can't just go to an EU store and get them, they sell out instantly. And on top of the fact that it's extreme luck you also need to have the time to camp on bots and click through every time they give out an update. Most people don't have the time or ability to do that all day. I'm in a lucky position to be able to do that and I still don't have a card.
This is rally super-duper-pooper simple. OCUK are offering a service. That service is completely voluntary. Some people want that service because it's the best shot they have at getting a card as quickly as possible.
You can wax lyrical about their ebil motives for doing it all you like, it doesn't matter. Some people WANT queues, OCUK are fulfilling a desired service by offering queues.
You do NOT speak for everyone here when you moan about queues, some people are glad the queues exist.
A year is hyperbolic. Loads of people have savings that exceed £700 and can quite happily have that money tied up and it's literally zero problem what so ever. By choosing to live so close to being broke with such little savings as possible is a choice you make and when you make that you restrict your ability to purchase things, that's your problem not mine.
The fact that the queues are 1000s' of people long should be good evidence that people want queues. If there was a better deal elsewhere people would take their money elsewhere.
