*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

Had one in my hands man, it's a *tank* :)

Personally for a 3080 I wouldn't have anything else. Ok, maybe a Strix OC

I've held a Ventus, founders edition, TUF OC and Strix OC :D. Founders edition & Strix are both incredibly well built, really unique. FE is in my machine, Strix in my sisters' though she's not given me any numbers on how it performs yet. TUC OC (I sold) is a monster of a card despite it being ASUS' lowest end, it out performs the FE on cooling and clock speeds, though real world performance difference is probably marginal. But maintained low 60 degs at 1700rpm fan speed whereas FE goes to low 70 degs for same fan speed. The Ventus (I returned) was a piece of trash, crashed all the time, lowest power limits of any 3080, kept hitting it. Could not maintain a decent voltage, dropped down to 0.9v by default. Worst built and performing of all 4.

Nope. Come back next year. At least that’s what it looks like. ASUS are just too greedy of a company.

They will keep fulfilling those TUF OC orders. What they don’t realise is the damage they are doing to their brand by doing this. For the sake of £30 in the short term they will lose a lot more in the long term. As long as there are good alternatives I will likely be avoiding them for the foreseeable future personally.

Makes me laugh that they say they are continuing to produce the non oc cards at a similar rate as the oc ones. Also makes me laugh that the rep here disappeared. That rep should never have come in the first place. If you are going to join, you need to stick around when it matters like the gigabyte rep, not disappear and only pop in for a bit of marketing now and then.

You would think with all the extra profits they make from the ASUS tax they would spend a bit more on customer care. Nope.
My as well keep my order in then I suppose or someone will be paying 150 quid more for it, since they won't go back to 650.

Asus have to produce the cards, it's like they are waiting for components to get cheaper to make them.. why agree to sell them at 650 in the first place then

Yeah.

They aren't waiting for them to get cheaper, just more plentiful.

Right now they can't get enough to even cover the OC orders, so as long as the parts bin well enough for the OC that is where they will be going.

99th in position for the 3080 eagle now. I'm still doubtful before Xmas :(

Eagles are starting to arrive now at least. At 99 there's probably a reasonable chance you'll get it before Xmas. I'm 723 in the queue for an Eagle. No chance for me before Xmas sadly but at the rate people are cancelling their orders I'll get it sooner than I first thought when I placed my order.

I've still got no desire to cancel my order. I don't have the time or money to try my luck elsewhere. I think there's a pretty good chance the price of cards will go up next year so I'm happy to stick with the Eagle I've ordered for the price I've paid for it.

Inno aren't shipping much, it seems they flooded the Chinese market to such an extent crypto miners were able to get hold of up to 8 cards each, the UK and Europe have received next to nothing.

I am with u there on this one... And I am at 600+ at the last update... Each update going up 70 places. I am contented just to wait in line, never felt more British. My mate has found one elsewhere but I am like, 'don't have the money to do that'. I have a bet with a mate for £5 to get my eagle before cyberpunk comes out, I am gonna lose £5 but hey the delay helped haha

What queue are you in and how much did you pay ?

The rate at which they're delaying Cyberpunk you might win your bet after all. ;). Waiting for my Eagle and looking forward to my Friday queue update then coming on here to see all the conspiracy theories and melodrama in this thread is its own form of entertainment anyway.

I’ve asked Asus multiple times on their Facebook posts and they have never replied.

It would appear they don't like talking to their customers directly.
I guess they did put out a statement, but like most official correspondence it was kind of vague and didn't give much away.

They should send updates to their suppliers, not supplies. Assuming it was a typo, the message makes sense. They are clearly constrained and it is not in their interests to deliberately delay production nor in the interests of OCUK to withhold stock from customers. As the saying goes, good things come to those who wait. The wait times here are nothing compared to say waiting for a pepsi or hulk which could run into years.

Founders is the best card and the cheapest, crazy stuff!!

The FE i believe comes with 2 arrays of MLCC's and 4 SP-CAP capacitors. SP-CAP's were blamed with early stability issues when overclocking (Cards with 6 SP-CAP's were effected the most)
ASUS Strix uses 6 MLCC Arrays.

FE Boost Clock : 1710 MHz
Strix Clock : 1905 Mhz

I haven't been able to test this in the real world for obvious reasons.
I will let you know in about 10 years once I finally get my Strix.

You're right. I managed to get the eagle for 650 inc vat. I think that's roughly the price of now of the 3070.. shocking!

I had the chance to get a Strix OC for £720 delivered today but honestly I can't imagine it being any better than the FE, especially once my waterblock arrives in a few days

May I ask where this was from? I'm after a Strix myself, the OC models are £870-£900, and I haven't found any stock yet. Hell even the 3070 Strix OC is £650

Ventus is the cheaper end of MSI range and its fine. Not had it crash yet or anything and performs within margin as the other cards. Its main advantage is that if fits in Mini ITX cases like the H1 where other cards will not. The TUF would fit but getting one.... well....
