*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

Been checking this intermittently from afar but have made an account to join the party, how often do you find out your queue position? I ordered on the 15/11/2020 so expecting to get a kick in the teeth but I'd like to know either way.

usually get an email every Friday. Just don't expect it to be a low number or move quickly. I was 140 on my first update, on October 2nd, and I'm currently 79 as of last Friday. I ordered on launch day but for one of the most disappointing cards so I think there's been a lot of cancellations lol. Expect to be several hundred if not 1000+ depending on the card you picked.

Supposedly every Friday AND every time a shipment for your card model has been made.

Nice call from a sales rep at the competitor i placed my second MSI trio order. They dont see them coming into stock in the next 30 days so offered a choice of Gigabyte Eagle, Master or Extreme. Picked the eagle (last one) on basis of price, showing as shipped already.

They also had Palit Gamerock non OC.

Im off this wild ride and anyone above 46ish in the OC Trio queue should bump up.

Oh no, I'm in the queue for the Trio - day 1 order. Looks as though there is no chance of me getting this before Christmas. If the competition aren't getting them I can't see OC getting them either. Seems I bought at the wrong store and picked the wrong card :p

Im surprised no update on the forums at all on delivery this week. Maybe gibbo is off and nobody else is updating. Surely they have had deliveries. Or what are they doing.. putting stock on site without people knowing and letting it sell out. ??

A competitor is offering all alternative 3080 stock to those in queues first unlike OC which is bad customer service. I never used the competitor before but going forward i think i wont use OC anymore. I spoke to someone 2 weeks ago asking them why are they not offering alternative product stock that comes in to people in queues first. He said they couldnt email everyone to do that.

I was just about to purchase the 3090 and cancel my zotac 3080. BUT sense came to me. Double the price for 10fps is not making sense when christmas is here and family need presents too. I may just get a Radeon xt or just get a 3070. By the time the 3080 arrives it will already be old anyway.

Its terrible what nvidia has done here. They are only making cards based on demand and they waited to see what the demand would be first.

Gibbo hasn’t posted any updates, which yeah while frustrating probably means there isn’t any updates to give. OCUK are at the mercy of the distributors, and they can only update us when the distributors update them.
Just to put the 'lack of communications' in some perspective, I ordered a new car last November. I had to wait until March to get the car, as although I was pretty much a day one order for the new range, the production lines didn't start rolling until January. I had to wait just over 3 months and during that time I got 3 updates. 3. On a car costing almost 100x what the GPU I've ordered is costing.

I've had more updates from OC in the last 2 months on a £780 GPU.

Maybe that's why I'm not frothing at the mouth all the time.

Could OC have handled this better? Sure, but it does look like they learned from the mistakes of the nvidia launch in how they handled the AMD launch, cutting off orders much earlier. That's the sign of a company that does appear to care, as they are a company that has seen a problem and taken action to prevent it re-occurring. Lesser companies would have carried on doing what they did before. No, it doesn't help any of us still waiting, but it does show that they have learned.

I'll go back to lurking on here and waiting, impatiently, for my card to arrive as and when :)

A competitor had them up 2 hours yesterday

I'm not seeing the similarity at all - I'm trying but I just can't see it. Seems more like flexing to me - I think that's what the kids call it these days! I assume you knew that you wouldn't be driving home in a car that wasn't even in production yet at the time you signed on the dotted line? And did you drop 70/80k on the desk that same day? or did you enter into some kind of contract/agreement with a down payment? Was the car even late at all?

I saw on the OCUK that they stopped taking pre orders = back orders. It is not a good sign.

They didn't stop completely, they just reduced the number of options available for pre-order.

I would assume they are still allowing pre-orders for the cards where they are getting better information on size and frequency of deliveries in the near future.

Just sent back my Zotact Trinity OC as the RGB wasnt working.

Managed to order a Gigabyte Aurous 3080, well over the original price of 650 i spent, but got fed up of waiting...

Will cancel my original Gigabyte 3080...

Well Lads after waiting since launch I finally snagged a gaming trio elsewhere. Paid slightly more than what I did on my pre-order. Current Position around 368 which I will cancel now I ordered on launch day around 5:30pm. Highly recommend anyone wanting to pick any card up to go to twitter and follow ""PartAlert" with a siren next to it is the right one" with push notifications as that's what i did. Had numerous chances to get gigabyte, Asus Tuf cards etc can't recommend enough. Some alerts are from amazon but also a lot from retailers where i got mine from

Was going to stick with OC but there has been so much lack of transparency regarding stock with the gaming trio's and many others especially over the last week that I'd rather get my card before Xmas than potentially waiting around. I understand they may have lack of stock etc but I think customers just want full transparency on actual shipment #'s especially when they've paid fully upfront.

Good luck to everyone!

There looks like 3090s are fairly available. If an Asus came up, I would be sorely tempted and it would be difficult not to order with only the cost keeping me at bay. It is bad enough with the other makes of 3080s coming up that I have seen. But I need to stick with Asus to keep my build in line with what I want. It is a one shot deal and I want it right, so waiting on.

Happy 9 week anniversary to all those that ordered a 3080 on the 17th September 2020 and have yet to receive it.
Happy anniversary to you too! And very nearly one week anniversary since we got an update from Gibbo. Man, I'm now praying I can get a card elsewhere so I can get my money back and tell OCUK where to stick their lack of communication.

Thought the GPU issue was bad? Have a read of this:

https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/uk-news/ps5-game-tesco-john-lewis-19307146

Today saw tens of thousands of gamers across the UK rejoice, as the long-awaited PS5 was finally released.

Those who were lucky enough to pre-order themselves a console have been receiving physical consoles, while those who were unable to have been given a second chance to reorder.

Stores like Tesco, John Lewis, GAME and Amazon all restocked consoles, but once again there has been a huge rush for gamers to bag one - causing some websites to glitch.

The Mirror reports that John Lewis website displays an error message, reading: "NO SIGNAL. We’re currently experiencing a problem. While we work on fixing this, please try to refresh the page or come back later."

Meanwhile, the GAME website won't load at all, with a message simply reading: "This site can't be reached."

Several frustrated customers have taken to Twitter to discuss the website outages.

One user said: "john lewis are a disgrace. I had the ps5 in checkout before they went down."

Sounds like Deja Vu to me.
