*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

So no new info then? They probably checked the thread on the phone and just read it out. 'very small' = 10, Expected soonTM but no date.

don't bother calling them, they've got stuff to do
you dont ask you dont get, they may have stuff to do, but I just (9 weeks ago ) dropped £900 on a GPU, I will call up to chase if I feel like it.

It's a big boat and we're all in it. They aren't going to magic up a card because you were nice enough to phone. The phone crew will literally be able to do nothing. You're literally asking and still not getting. We all are and it sucks.

I mean feel free to call, but know that it is a waste of your time.

I don't care that you don't mind being taken advantage off. I will pressure them or anybody that does not fulfill their part of the deal, especially if they tricked me into entering a deal by providing false information at the start of the deal (ETA being 23rd of September) and then arrogantly telling me to wait or cancel if I want my money back. This is arrogance at the highest level, just tiny bit shy of being illegal, but certainly immoral.
I knew going in that it would be a while before I get the card and my expectations have been met. I can either continue to wait or get one from elsewhere (should I manage to snag one) and request a refund. At least I wasn't naïve enough to not see this coming.

Truth is, if we were silent from the start and just took it we would never get queue updates, we would never get updates from gibbo, and we would be just sitting here doing nothing wondering if we are being ripped off. It's thanks to people who ask and demand answers that you even get scraps of updates.

Agreed.

Dude - they don't have cards. They don't know when cards are coming in. If you feel lied to you can refund and go elsewhere. Calling people who's job isn't to look after a discord server children, in a channel specifically for pre-sales enquiries isn't going to endear you to anyone.

Everyone is annoyed, but they can't magic cards up.

The only person here who isn't doing as promised is Gibbo re:updates. And the discord guys have already said they have no control over him.

You can't get blood from a stone as the old saying goes. They're not going to look at your comments and say "jeez, that guy is upset, break out the stash of 500 3080s we've been keeping for a rainy day"

Put your big boy pants on or raise a complaint with them formally rather than flaming the poor 1st line guys who can't do anything

I would love if Gibbo just posted every day and said there is nothing to update today or something... it's beyond annoying checking the thread and it's Thursday and the last update was from Friday.

I disagree. The way they treat customers will hurt their business. This is poorly managed from the start .

Not gonna lie dude, ETA means Estimated Time of Arrival, the key being "estimated".

I couldn't care less about the situation they're in given that someone made these divisions to begin with. There was an easy way to stop this from happening. Each card should have description written that they have zero clue when they get the card and it could be months. They put the ETA as 23rd of September, can you not see what I typed? If they were honest they wouldn't have all that heat now on them. It's their doing. As you say they don't have cards or know when they'll get them, yet they happily accepted my money upfront while providing me with made up ETA that wasn't even an ETA once I called them. Kids act like that, not adults. I don't care if someone gets offended. We're in capitalist country, and this is how it works.

That's fine - but you have to play by their rules, complain until you're blue in the face. They asked you not to spam the channel and you carried on, then complained they threatened to ban you. What do you expect?

My expectations were set by the ETA of 23rd of September. If you by default are ready and expeciting and what's worse, accept being lied to then you have some issues with self worth I think. No guy in suit will take advantage of me or my wallet with me staying silent.
I've seen enough botched launches to know that this happens, though I can understand if you're too inexperienced to understand this. You're only working yourself up.

How about they play by the rules of delivering online orders within 30 days? These are rules in UK, actual law. Who's playing by those rules, cause they ain't?
Those laws don't apply to pre-orders.

Sounds to me like you should probably cancel your order and go with another supplier dude, we're in a capitalist country after all.

"There is a default delivery period of 30 days during which the retailer needs to deliver the goods to you unless a longer period has been agreed.

If your delivery is later than agreed and it was essential that it was delivered on time, then you have the right to cancel the purchase and get a full refund."

Right to cancel. There is no law saying you MUST get your goods in 30 days no matter what.

There are no cards.

We are the midst of a pandemic with record levels of demand and a severe lack of supply. What do you expect them to do?

Look at every other major electronics launch as of recent. Notice any similarities?

This basically. We're all annoyed that we don't have our cards yet but jesus christ suck it up.

"Overclockers UK is one of the biggest and oldest NVIDIA partners and we will be one of the first companies to get stock." This is a lie, firmed up by the fact that they are not selling the FE cards. Not only is it a lie, it's misleading and is false advertising...They don't have the cards but wrote a cheque they couldn't cash...Everything else you said is true...

These were not pre orders. Just because they called it that does not make it reality. These were backorders as the product was already publicly released. You can't just make up your own definitions of words to walk around the rules like that. It doesn't work like this

No, but the actual laws apply to products that are on shelves or not available. The law backs you to the extent where you can be refunded.

Complaining doesn't change that law. It doesn't work like this
