These were not pre orders. Just because they called it that does not make it reality. These were backorders as the product was already publicly released. You can't just make up your own definitions of words to walk around the rules like that. It doesn't work like this
Regardless of whether it's a pre-order or a back order pretending to be a pre-order, you bought it knowing that there would be a substantial delay in getting the card, relative to launch date. You were given an ETA, which was not met. That is a mistake from OCUK. However you're reactions and comments have been unreasonable, given you know what the state of the world, this launch and how OCUK have been handling the situation thus far. You've had ample opportunity to get a refund and go elsewhere. Have you? Because it seems you haven't and are just having a hissy-fit online.
 
With this attitude customers will be always losers. Placing more pressure on companies and demanding honesty and transparency is the only thing we have against them acting as they are. Good luck waiting for mercy lol

Well ask for a refund as the law entitles you to do. They are not holding it from you, would you of preferred an automatic refund after 30 days?

But you're not asking for more info are you? You're demanding a 3080. You're assuming there's a big conspiracy to hide it from you.

It reminds me of being 4 and crying my eyes out because my mum said we had no coco pops in the house
 
Let's not pretend as if they don't have discrepancies in what numbers they should be receiving as per their partners updates and what is actually being shipped. And those those magical pre builds being available with cards that seem to be missing....
Oh, I'm not advocating for OCUK. I expect that their staff, along with staff from other resellers have had first pick of the stock, before they're released to customers. Maybe that's not the case, but it's what I expect. The cards in pre-built machines are not supposed to be sourced from the same stock as the consumer cards. Whether OCUK or other SIs are doing this, we can only guess.

Throwing your toys out of the pram and throwing shade at other forum members isn't going to get you anywhere. This thread is long enough and OCUK aren't acting any differently. Your voice is just one of literally thousands and isn't going to have any more weight than anyone else.

The situation isn't going to change. You're better off accepting that and moving on. If you can't accept that, then there are other places to shop.
 
Just received an email from the competitor I have my preorder with asking if i would like to swap from a trinity to a trinity OC for no extra charge. Thankfully the wait is almost over and should have the card before the weekend.

To be fair, the best way to encourage a company to change their ways is to vote with your wallet. Rather than posting here, the single most powerful thing you can do, is cancel your order and take your money elsewhere and not grace either the OCUK shop or Forums in future.
 
I've been checking 10 different sites a day for the 3080, I almost cracked last night and ordered a 3090, it seems they're everywhere right now and I'd rather spend the extra than resort to scalpers for a 3080, my problem is I'm watercooling and I have to buy a waterblock as well and there's only so many cards that have compatible blocks right now and ofcourse the one 3080 I can get hold of right now the MSI Trio X doesn't have a block ready,

it's like just when I see an end to this nightmare another road block pops up.
 
The idea of getting my Asus tuf 3080 OC turned into a dream several weeks ago course I'm still in the queue but at this point I'll take any card that I can get a waterblock for.

Would have pinged you had I known , had a 3080 tuf in my basket from amazon in Spain. But it was 820 and delivery was dec 10th.

I would love if Gibbo just posted every day and said there is nothing to update today or something... it's beyond annoying checking the thread and it's Thursday and the last update was from Friday.

Most competitors are posting and/or emailing daily updates, and even if all they're saying is 'the orders haven't come in yet' at least the customers know what's happening and feel valued for spending their hard-earned money on a high value item that hasn't materialised yet. They feel valued and feel like the retailer is doing everything they can to secure the product and get it shipped out to the customer. A certain competitor even goes so far as to explain that a shipment didn't come in because of a problem with the air freight logistics, and the same competitor is calling up customers to offer alternatives to what they're waiting for. That sort of customer service gets rewarded tenfold. A couple of years ago I considered that competitor to be inferior to OCUK, but after this I know that they're far more deserving of my money.
