*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

I've had a bad experience with the Zotac 1080 AMP Extreme as one of its fans made a grinding noise at high revs, and there was some coil whine (my kids were wondering where's the fly hiding in my pc case), so I came back to ASUS and went on with a ROG Strix 1080ti OC which I still use.
Ye I get that, I had a evga ftw 3 1080ti and I loved that card but I sold it for a 3080 that I haven't received yet lol

One thing that is genuinely bothering me about the queue position is this:

According to the unofficial calculator, I'm 66th on the TUF OC list.

Based on some ludicrous calculations, the actual position should be somewhere between 20 and 40... But that is STILL based on speculations and the way people who were far in the unofficial queue found out that they're much closer to the front...

Then, after basically two days of these calculations, there were massive ideas that people were switching to the TUF and TUF OC cards, because... reasons. And what saddens me is that I'm here because I want that card, and somebody might get it faster than me because his <any other card brand> order was placed earlier than me and he just wrote a note or made a call and now he probably enjoys the card that should've been mine.

I might sound petty. But it just feels wrong.

I just hope that my order at 14:34 on the 17th will be fulfilled tomorrow and I'll be getting my card as soon as possible.
I think the cards just never came in today. That’s the only plausible explanation. I can’t tell if people fib but I have heard for people higher times than yours getting their TUF OC on. What will end all of this speculation is just a straight up list emailed around tomorrow. Sent weekly. Job done.

Ill be shoving it in the Alienware amplifier, over a PCI-e cable and playing runescape on the M15 with it at 1080p, mad maybe but meh lol

So when it come ill have to deal with a hot as sin I7 8750H + 1070 Max Q! while making billions on runescape and burning those high scores slower! rank 1,191 total on RS good game ;)

And if it dont work in the external GPU box ill stick it in my Thread ripper 1920x build

And side note i'm going choppy choppy on the amp to make it fit! CRAZY!!!

Did a Webnote to OCUK pre launch didn't get a reply I don't think anyone knows if a 3080 RTX will work in the Alienware amplifier

Well...

They came in early and no one posted an update on the forum
They came in mid day and no one posted an update on the forum
They came in late and no one posted an update on the forum

In all 3 instances, cards could have been delivered to OcUK you just wouldn't be aware.

Like someone said above, people have spent time calling, emailing and submitting webnotes... this adds a delay. The more likely scenario is they've working flat out in the warehouse and are scrambling as many orders together as humanly possible. I've no doubts that OcUK will come forward with some information that'll put people's mind at ease / annoy those who are 1000+ in the queue :D

Man I'm in A&E since 11am so that's 8 hours soon I'm a master of waiting for things by now since its thing I'm trying to get fixed in me for over 3 years now.... 2 weeks wait for card?? People should try 7 months waiting for mir while getting worse by week..
As they say 1st world problems.

Well said, I hope you get patched up soon!

I both get the need for the new thread while at the same time feel like you can't really blame people for being frustrated at the lack of communication while OC is sitting on people's money.

I'm fortunate enough in that I can sit on my order with you while still looking elsewhere for stock that comes in and buy outright (was fortunate enough to both buy and receive 2 cards this week elsewhere), but I can 100% see the frustration for people that have all their eggs in the OCUK basket and are just sat waiting indefinitely with no information.

But they technically aren't sitting on money as you can cancel anytime, it just comes down to patience, if your impatient then you will get frustrated but like you said it's the lack of communication that is the main worry of the matter, either way I'm patient and I know the risk of ordering knowing they don't have the stock but I can just pull out anytime up until it gets shipped :D

Damn, so my 1100+ unofficial is looking even worse now.

I genuinely never imagined in August that I’d be without a card for Cyberpunk. The situation has completely flipped my thinking. Luckily we have a Day 1 PS5 coming...

I can tell you that the TUF OC queue is double the MSI Gaming X Trio. I enquired about switching from MSI Gaming X Trio 3080 to TUF OC yesterday and though he wouldn't tell me specific details. He did say that the MSI Gaming X Trio 3080 queue is less than half of the TUF OC now. So I guess many early buyers of other cards like MSI or gigabyte etc switched after the reviews came out of the TUF OC. Showing it's a beast of a card. Asus really overbuilt it. I guess trying to rebuild loyalty after past TUF issues. The TUF OC is basically like the strix underneath. Very close. So I would imagine you been pushed back loads. I stayed with MSI Gaming X because so many left that one for Asus

I've stayed with the Aorus Xtreme because no one else should be stupid enough to pay £900 for a 3080... but here I am

Switching should have never taken place. I was so pleased placing my order for the TUF OC and getting it in at 15:25 and then the reviews confirming what I saw in the card. If there is any truth to swapping while people doing deals and a cool Salesman on the phone while twiddling a Bic pen “no worries mate I’ll swop it for ya just need a bit more cash from ya” really is just poor TBH.

Well fingers crossed for some information tomorrow then from the sounds of things, however based on previous “communication” I can’t blame people for being skeptical still.

I think the Que should put everyone at ease. I also do personally think they should not be taking pre orders. But that’s just my opinion.
