"The cards are subjected to a grueling 144-hour validation trial.".

But assuming they're not actually being bottlenecked (e.g. producing 100 per day, only room to test 80 at a time) this isn't a bottleneck. It's just another step, and assuming they're producing an amount per day they'll be shipping them all at that rate after testing - the only delay would be for the first ~144h of production.

Have you got a source for this? I don't doubt you, I just want to see this for myself as I'm interested
Here you go

Hello ASUS/ROG Fans
We are aware that the current demand for our RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 cards significantly exceeds supply, which can cause frustration for many who have been looking forward to these new cards.
We'd like to show you some measures we're already taking to ensure that all the GPUs we're receiving are getting into the right hands as soon as possible: yours!
✅ Delivery without detour All available GPUs will be assembled at our overseas factories, and tested on our cards ASAP (For up to 144 hours). Afterwards (and this is new) the finished cards will be delivered directly via DHL Express from the factory to the respective ASUS distributors, who will then distribute the cards to all online and physical shops. This eliminates some of the usual stops, saving time, and gets the cards to their destination as soon as possible.
✅ From real gamers... Our graphics cards are designed for PC gaming. We have no interest in them being used for anything other than gaming. We therefore only deliver our RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 cards to shops that we know sell directly to private customers.
✅... for real gamers We recommend the shops we work with to issue only one card per customer. In addition, trusted reseller accounts are preferred.
What's next?
Due to the enormous demand, which even exceeded our highest expectations, we have to ask for a little patience.
Currently we send new cards to the distributors, and then to the dealers, multiple times a week, and of course we will continue to work on ensuring that anyone who wants to buy an RTX 3080 or RTX 3090 is able to.
If you’ve already got a TUF or ROG Strix RTX 3080/3090, we’d appreciate photos of your PCs in the comments, and we thank you for your support!

Where was this said? I didn't see any mention from Gibbo today about these?

I assumed since Asus is Taiwanese they wouldn't be affected by Chinese holidays but it seems their factories for the TUF OC are in fact in China from what I saw labelled on an outer packaging somewhere, so we must wait...

Being Taiwanese, we all still celebrate the same holidays like Chinese New Year and Mid Autumn Festival (What I've seen here to be referred to as Golden Week or something like that). So they'd would have had a week of holiday.

I think this is why ASUS can't ship the TUF card faster than the other brand, the 6 days testing is "bottleneck" at the end before packaging. I rather they reduce the testing time and shipping the card faster.

144hrs = 6 days, so in a few days we cane expect a mountain of them to arrive?

I expect this is the same for everyone and it is just part of the process, nothing new. The question remains, where are the cards?

414th for a Gigabyte Eagle, not going to lie, was disappointed to see a 2 week delay. Here's hoping a big shipment will come in but seriously not expecting this before Xmas, that way i might be pleasantly surprised!

So if there is a 144hr of validation trial and they are producing their RTX 3080 as quick as possible, how many Asus TUF Non-OC do you guys think they already made? Just curious.

While Autumn Festival coincided with Golden Week this year and made it a day longer, I thought this was "National Day Golden Week" celebrating the "National Day of the People's Republic of China" commemorating the formal establishment of the People's Republic of China on October 1 1949. Or in other words an event I'd imagine that Taiwan, aka "The Republic of China" doesn't celebrate?

Though the factories all seem to be in "mainland" China, so wouldn't make a difference to production, just the head office.

Everybody waiting on a gaming x trio a competitor mentioned that they are delayed until 19th-21st i may be wrong but OCs intake may be the same. Golden week delays?

Random observation - If this is seriously every penny you own, is a luxury gfx card really what you should be prioritising your money on as a student? Letalone during a global economic/jobs prospects crisis.
You may have already reflected on this so ignore me if so

You've got to admire it nqat

Ok thanks. I checked for Taiwanese national holidays and it wasn’t on the list I saw. I’ll just assume they did pause in that case.

I think I lacked some clarity, every penny I own for personal luxuries, I budget myself with every payment I get. I can afford all the necessities I need daily. This was purely all I have for treats, ie Takeaways, a new game, etc

I disagree. A robust testing process is needed for electronics. If anybody received a faulty card, they would moan about this too and their replacement product would mean the next person on the list has to wait longer

I only ordered my Eagle at the end of last week. I'm guessing about 2000+ in the queue since I haven't heard and I'm so far back that OC'ers won't tell me until there's at least some movement with the Eagles.

I'm really hoping that since there's been such a delay with them that a decent amount arrive at once. Obviously I'm not holding my breath for mine but it would be good just to get the queue moving a bit.

I've always had a great experience with OCUK in the past which is why I chose to pre-order with them this time but this whole experience has soured my opinion of them somewhat. Some clearer communication would go a long way to improving things.
Me too. But I suppose it's when things go wrong that customer service is really tested.
