*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

I've been told by OCUK that they are expecting the volumes of stock received to increase later this month/early next month. So hopefully once that happens the queues wil start to drop fast. I'm not in a queue, by the time I'd researched the specific card/s I was interested in as noise is a major consideration for me, the queues were ewll over 1000 so I'm just waiting until someone has avaiallbe stock be it here or another site.
a lot of empty promises. I'm not holding my breathe until it happens. Not being optimistic anymore.

Hello gentlemen. Has there been any news on the MSI ventus? I contacted MSI_UK Twitter and to my surprise I got a reply! I asked if they were shipping more stock to the UK in general (I thought a pretty easy question to answer) and got told that they have no ETAs at this time, which is a little concerning!

@EVH do you have any official info on why the system builds are offering 3080s saying in stock or due on 16th October. Do OCUK use retail GPUs or OEM if retail (which I think they do as they offer the box) are these people buying system builds taking from our queues getting in front of us paying before them. ?

EDIT: Just seen the post above. But this contradicts what we seeing on the custom builds.
They are showing green icon BTO which means they have stock. It would be Blue or Red if not.

they use retail cards, if you buy a pre build they’ll send you the gpu box with it.

Nvidia should have released 6-8 weeks later. Several months just to produce enough chips to cover day 1 orders is a bit ridiculous.

Sadly the hype and shortage is free marketing for them, even if there production lines weren't anywhere near ready - they still make a ton of cash on the cards anyways.

I can't believe that thousands of people still have their money tied up in this queue system....

Neither can I? lol, still, OCUK will be well happy gaining all that lovely interest off folks hard earned cash for months in the meantime, after all, it's in their bank, not yours ;)

According to official queue positions and some open source data gathering, this week no Ventus have shipped but the queue did drop slightly due to cancellations. Last week about 50 units shipped and again the queue also dropped due to cancellations. How many queue positions you move depends on your place in the queue the further back you are the more people are ahead of you and the more people will have cancelled. You should get queue position come through via email approximately once a week, likely the next update will be mid week next week.

The open source data on queues is all here https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1nqzTL2tEIl5FLQqZLdTeJ2iLAOBR-yVURCgbsTn5LSU

Yes I've been keeping up to date and thank you for listing the source data. I'm actually number 6 in the queue but very impatient! I should really count myself fortunate compared to some of the 1000+ queue spots I've seen here. I was maybe being a bit silly and got concerned the distributors stock had dried up.

So you mean wait 6-8 weeks while they build stock rather than waiting 6-8 weeks for a preorder delivery. And we gain...what? What about the other people who would order on day2+ they have to wait?

Stock is extremely limited, that's the bottom line. There's a fair few sources that have confirmed manufacturing is being ramped up significantly all throughout Oct but that wont likely reach us until early to mid November as the supply chain and shipping is just a long process. Until then stock will likely be small deliveries once a week or so.

By that logic you waited 2 years since the 20 series release. What's another 6 weeks, especially if you end up getting your card 6 weeks after ordering anyways.
If you can't order because the product only releases Dec. 1st, you won't impatiently F5 this forum, write angry rants and check the tech news. You'd be happily playing stuff on your current gpu.

They should have at least waited for release until all their production lines are fully up and running. Which hopefully is happening now.
