*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

So I bought my 1080Ti for 600 quid off of OCUK 2 years ago. At that time that was around the price of a top tier card. Then almost immediately the bitcoin thing kicked in and all of a sudden GFX seem to double in price overnight.
Then along comes the new top tier in the shape of a 2080Ti at 1500 a go. **** dat!
Fast forward 2 years and Nvidia release a card for half the price of a 2080Ti and a better performer.

And Nvidia have been caught out by the level of interest!!!! Even Mr Magoo saw that coming!

Even I know these would be super popular. Someone high up in NVidia is in the wrong job if they didn't see this coming.

I just hope I get my Asus 3080 before Xmas. It was an early Xmas present to myself, at this rate at 1100+ in the queue and only moving 120 places in 3 weeks.
I'll be lucky to see it for Xmas 2021!!

I dont blame OCUK nor do I care that my money is sitting in someone elses bank earning pence for interest.
But I am an impatient mofo and I just want my new card!

Don't see a lot of people posting about it but whats the queue like for the inno3d? Seems to be unpopular and worth switching maybe.

There were at least 80 for the x2, at least 53 for x3, i am 48 on this model, and at least 40 for the x4, from what i remember people posting their queue number here. There is a close to large shipment arring at the end of the month. I hope there will be at least 50 x3, but my guess they are equally split so will wait for next shipment, maybe in november i'll have mine with the second delivery. If not, then looking forward for december, early Christmas gift i made to myself

It's prob one of the better chances to get a code, ive gone for X4 and i'm 65 and ordered end of Sept.

I think the other might by PNY but not heard much with regards to any stock coming in
If your on about the watch dogs and GFN code. It's based on when ordered not shipped out. They removed the offer before end of September. Its first 1000 orders. I've already had this confirmed as many other have too in email and over the phone. I ordered within first hour. I don't have my card yet either. But I've been told one set of codes have already been allocated to my order. So I'm defo getting them. People who ordered 2 weeks after no way. Unless ocuk can get more from Nvidia.

There was no lack of foresight on this, they knew full well and decided to launch anyway. We have been played, once again, by big, greedy business.

It's so crazy, it just seems so ridiculous that I can't help but wonder if it's a clever marketing move by Nvidia at the expense of retail outlets like OCUK.

We will find out within a few weeks.
1. Either stock suddenly appears in high enough numbers to calm the masses, but keeps the demand/frenzy.

Or

2. They really did drop the ball whilst damaging other business reputation in the process.

Interesting that a certain other retailer has re-iterated to people several times "We are expecting to fulfil most pre-orders by mid November and all by end November."

OCUK are sole UK importer, and so it's not such a well known card. People like brand names and are prepared to pay over the odds and wait ridiculously long times for something which probably isn't even as good as a lesser known competitor. It depends which Inno model you want the queue is probably less for the 4X than the 3X and it's not much more money either.

With microsoft suffering the same issues as Nvidia over the launch of their new Xbox, the only common factor is the board assembler Foxconn, who Microsoft had a legal spat with last year. Today iPhone 12 launches, a month behind schedule, and I'm now pretty certain that Apple have taken close to all of Foxconns production capacity manufacturing their first 5G phone. Nvidia couldn't have forseen this, and Apple certainly weren't going to give them a heads up, and that is why volume GPUs are going to appear back end of this month early next because preproduction of iPhone 12 has scaled down and they can move on to other products.

Its unfortunate that stock is short but i can't help feeling OC have shot themselves in the foot here. EVERY other competitor i've seen has done things better. Sure the grass always seems greener but my friend ordered a zotac from competitor last week and its due for delivery today. He will get the watchdogs code aswell which they're honoring until the end of oct (no limit on numbers it seems from them just the time deadline). He was updated as he waited. and whilst their email replies were slower than normal he got plenty of info in the replies.

Here nobody seems to know whats going on. At this point im not even convinced the code we were promised will materialise for a lot of us anymore. I've been through the stress of ordering on launch day and waiting here with no info whilst he comes along late, grabs a card with little issue and will no doubt be inviting me round to show off later. It's frustrating to say the least. Now the zotac wouldn't be my first choice but atm i'd probably be happy with just about any 3080 lmao :P

Well someone earlier claimed they had a dispatch email for MSI Trio and they were 12th position....Something fishy going on! Could be trolling, but that makes no sense at all If this is true!

Just to say that I wasn't trolling it will be here in an hour and I was 12th in the queue yesterday (and for the last couple of weeks)

Some of us here avoid finance like the plague because of values instilled when young, and I have to say I'm one of those people, however, providing you bought early on before the price increase, you will probably still be better off. The card I ordered has increased in price by nearly £100 so unless you financed this on some crazy high interest 30%+ deal you're better off.

If you ordered after the price increase then it should have been obvious by that time that stock was a major problem and you bought at a time when you should have known.
some people are luck enough to have 700-800£ to throw at a graphics card ! others use finance, nothing whatsoever to do with values learnt when young, that sort of snobbery has no place in a modern finance driven society;)

Post a screen shot of despatch? So then the rest of us can question this with OC.

People that were a lower position than you never got a despatch email so seems like you jumped the queue somehow and this is something OC has to give an answer for.
