*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

I wish someone who has a card preorder (and is low in the queue) would order a system build with said card in it just to see if the build becomes ready before the card preorder.

Receive said system, then return it but without the card and be like "well I have a preorder for a that card that I placed before this system build, so you can call my card preorder as fulfilled, but refund the system build", just to see what happens.

Completely hypothetical and pointless, buy would be hilarious to see the outcome nevertheless.
If I only had 2 grand to spend I'd love to do that.

1. While understandable the GPU delay and long queue, people complaining that they are not getting a poor game is so unnecessary. While it's always nice to get free stuff, i don't think a bundle should impact your frustration, my opinion.
2. What was making me thinking, if it's true and Nvidia/AIB partners are holding into huge amount of GPU's, this will make us wait even more. Cause if the magic starts end of october, start of november we will still wait for boat to come from China. Which might end us getting the cards still end of november, start of december. Correct me if I'm wrong, I am not an expert and this is just a thought.
3. Even if the previous statement is true and they are holding back for AMD launch, it's still a massive bad strategy. Just look how frustrated people are getting and already looking at AMD, people are cancelling orders quite in high amount. So it wouldn't make any sense to hold on instead of flooding the market and get people spending before the launch of the consoles and AMD rx6000 cards.

This inno3d delivery is killing my vibe now thought would at least have been in today!! Won't hear a bean to next week. Won't stop me complaining about it though
I think you've misread Gibbo's post. He said they wouldn't be shipped until late this week early next, not that they would arrive! He gave that estimate as before the end of October which still has two seeks to go.

Some of us bought on finance, have no choice but to wait. Won't be doing this again. Lesson leaned.

You're still in the right to cancel.

I see OC's trustpilot score has started to drop with all the negative reviews.

The line between poor communication and simply a bunch of people who are disgruntled due to the fact it's a lot of money to them is blurred. If you're not willing to wait, nobody is stopping you from moving on. Anyone would think this is their first rodeo at buying this stuff.

This is a global problem, not just Overclockers UK. It goes all the way up the chain.

Did you do finance or buy now pay later? I did buy now pay later and personally watching this forum I am glad a have an order and haven’t spent more that £10 on it.

I did it this way on purpose because I saw the situation unfolding everywhere and with OC doing preorders I understood that it would be some time before I got my card. So I have the money to pay it off now, but I won’t pay anything more until my card arrives.

So a month since I ordered my Strix non-OC. I can’t get my head around why it’s been a month and not a single shred of communication from OC on when I may receive my card. Even if they said they currently cannot get any information on my card I’d appreciate the honesty and at least know where I stand. Keeping people totally in the dark isn’t healthy and forces people to have to continually sit on a forum hoping today might be the day we see a message saying “a small amount of strix non-OC shall arrive tomorrow”. I’ve never seen such poor customer service in recent years. The lack of communication really blows my mind and shows they just don’t give a F. I’ll never buy anything from Overclockers again once this is over

Same as me, it’s infuriating that ASUS haven’t even released this card yet as they focus on the OC, tuf and tuf OC

Good morning troops.

Another day in the trenches trying to fight for information and clarity.

EXAMPLE - https://www.overclockers.co.uk/news...ular-updates-on-deliveries-and-stock-559.html

LINK to the latest info 4 days out of date.......

BUT!!!!

"We want to keep customers updated with the latest news surrounding the launch and also pass on any important information surrounding the delivery and shipping of stock. To do this there will be regular updates from our product manager “Gibbo” on a dedicated forum post and this blog will also contain the latest up to date info."

Have a good one people

Some of us here avoid finance like the plague because of values instilled when young, and I have to say I'm one of those people, however, providing you bought early on before the price increase, you will probably still be better off. The card I ordered has increased in price by nearly £100 so unless you financed this on some crazy high interest 30%+ deal you're better off.

If you ordered after the price increase then it should have been obvious by that time that stock was a major problem and you bought at a time when you should have known.

Could you try to be less condescending, you could look at it the other way.

My parents taught me so well to hold on to my money in my own account. Use interest free BNPL then settle the balance before interest kicks in.

we can all put a spin on it to suit our own agenda so I suggest you don’t.

Exactly this, I can quite easily afford these things, but 12 months 0% interest still has its placed and that money available to one at the time can be used elsewhere.

Let's not kid ourselves, as far as hobbies go, this stuff is fairly tame financially speaking.

I ordered a Gigabyte Gaming OC on 17th September around 10:30pm.

Got my 2nd queue update yesterday and I've gone from position 162 to 142.

I'm starting to think that by the time I'm at the front of the queue the stock situation will have gone away and there will be more than enough to go round so not really much point being in the queue in the first place. On top of that, will there be better alternatives by then eg. 20Gb models or AMD's new offerings (although both these future possibilities will have their own queues)?

I guess it's holding station until we see the AMD announcement. If no real improvement in stock by the end of October I might bail out of these 10Gb models and go away and do something else for a couple of months and wait for the dust to settle on all this ****.

I'm sorry if you found it condescending, it was in fact actually suggesting you might have made the right decision and been better off as a result. If you have used an interest free period then so much the better, and if something does go wrong you are covered financially as well.

Understood mate!
