*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

dunno about Zakkie but i chose next day
and you received it? Yeah gave me an estimated delivery of next Monday, which I found was odd because it mentioned they were expecting stock on the 20th. But should be processed within a few days hopefully. Gonna cancel asap and be done with this queue.

I think ASUS may be taking the p@$s a bit.
Taken from their website.

You got a link, please?

Oh, it's a direct quote from TT article.

And now we know why I moved over to the said competitor to get a 3070 strix oc instead, due in on the 16th and I know that'll easily arrive before even a dozen of OCs cards will have shipped.

Eurika! Now you know what we are all bitching about

There has to be something going on here. Tin foil hat time but are suppliers and manufacturers charging an arm and a leg for stock or do OC have no buying power? EVGA queue hasn't moved and several other brands haven't moved. I get that stock is limited but this competitor is getting stock across all brands weekly.

I would think the millions they are holding of our money gives them buying power, so it must be something else, Bad blood between someone and someone else maybe

I'm starting to wonder if there really was something wrong with the design of the 3080's, serious enough for the AIB's to stop production to make changes. It seems the 90's are much easier to get, and will have normal stock much sooner. This might just be because of the higher price tag, but it seems the 3070 is easier to get too. The queue numbers for the 70's aren't nearly as long, and I could get one for at least 30mins after launch compared to the half a second of 3080 availability. Historically at least, the 60's and 70's are much more popular than 80's. Given the MRSP of the 3070, and the current situation, I expected it to be much more popular.

Anyway, just speculation, but I'm wondering if nvidia could have messed up the reference design in some way that threw the AIB's under the bus, and they can't talk about it because nvidia would sue them into oblivion. The FE not being reference might have been ok.

The point now is not about the freedom that we have to cancel orders or not.
But making a decision to keep our preorders based on the “facts” presented by OCUK and the “supposed delivery plans”.
A one liner update from @Gibbo today is disappointing and not being forthcoming about what’s going on. Irrespective of whether people will like what is said or not. Be transparent.

Shame on you OCUK.

The problem with his updates and not just the lack there of, but they're usually worded poorly and doesn't list shipments that have arrived and shipped. What happened to the Gigabyte shipment? At least with the competitor it's in a clear and concise format that details expected shipments, total shipped for the week, updated queue numbers. What we have is some one liners from a guy who spends more time on the stocks forum.

Very well put. Probably the last time I will be ordering a GPU from OCUK.

I remember them saying early days "We benefit from being one of Nvidia's oldest partners and the biggest UK PC retailer"

Clearly hasn't meant much with how many cards competitors have been receiving.
