*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

To you and to all other "Don't like it, cancel" muppets.

If a company states ETA's as they did when many of us ordered and many of us ordered a card that we actually didn't prefer based on those ETA's, so we already lost money on ordering more expensive card due to implied availability, were forced to pay next day delivery rate that's ridiculously expensive in it self. When they damn well knew, it will be weeks at best, months at worse when they send the cards to costumers, they should at least refund those to everyone.

If you'd pre-ordered a new TV from Currys with ETA of tomorrow, you kept on getting fobbed of with pathetic information and told to come to your local shop to pick it up every few days and than discover it was a "mistake", "miscommunication", or some other nonsense, but kinda always made you feel like it was your fault and not theirs and that went on for more than a month. If than someone told you, you can cancel, so what's the problem, I'm pretty sure it would make your blood boil.

So in summary, yes you can cancel any time and yes the 3080 shortages are everywhere and OCUK isn't really responsible for that, but to imply that they behaved and still behave in a professional manner, because you can cancel anytime makes it all ok, is not only ridiculous, but also insulting. Detach your lips from OCUK's ass and look around you for a bigger picture.

Well said. The sad thing is that you're not the first to point this out, yet everyone conveniently ignores these kind of messages and keep saying "OC's dun nuffin wronng, ya can cancel anytime!"
I'd like to add that some people should go brush their teeth because I can smell what ass they are licking from here when they open their mouth.

I think looking back on this whole saga, if I had to advise someone looking to buy the next generation of graphics cards, it would go like:

Avoid EVGA, Inno, KFA They will ship nothing to the UK because they are servicing foreign markets and will not look to Europe until those markets are fully supplied. You could, and probably will wait months for products.

Avoid Asus especially non OC product. Asus customer service is woeful and again they will only supply second rate silicon into their non OC cards which again might never be delivered for months.

The other manufacturers MSI Zotac Gigabyte will at least attempt to service the UK markets with product, although it might take a long time if there is product scarcity.

....but....but.... "Overclockers UK is one of the biggest and oldest NVIDIA partners and we will be one of the first companies to get stock."!! :p

"One of" being the critical quote. Check my username. The trading names of companies are typically listed at the bottom of the website, then compare their turnover and profitability to see which ones have the biggest buying power. Then check their communications track record this launch and decide who you will never shop for new items with again.

I suppose now that my X3 is a way off, do I switch over to a 3070? I'm running at 1440 and won't be going to 4k any soon. Currently have no GPU and will want to play something.

Am I likey to get a 3070 quicker then a Inno3D X3 3080?

Ateek Walia got off phone to OCUK 30 mins ago and has advised..

"THERE ARE NO x3/x4 3080s as of now as the CHIPS DONT EXIST, however an order of 200 has been placed, fat load of good that will do".

Also.. the guy on the phone bless him also said that it wouldn't be advisable for people even 20th in the queue to expect their inno x3/x4 this year

The second half is definitely true. OCUK is literally the only place where you can preorder right now. I doubt that anyone who knows the length of the queues would pre-order a 3080 from OCUK at this time. Some queues may be approaching the total number of outstanding 3080 pre-orders for certain other retailers. Nobody outside OCUK knows. But they refrain from telling new customers their queue position until they've parted with their money and had to wait a little while. It's a dodgy business practice if you ask me.

If OCUK wants to keep pre-orders open, they should be upfront about queue sizes and shipment numbers. Other retailers can provide this information. And if it were true that "[OCUK] are in the best possible position to acquire [3080s] before every other UK retailer.", that data can only put OCUK in a positive light.
Last time I counted from the spreadsheet, OCUK had in excess of 9,100 outstanding 3080 pre-orders. Obviously the 3070 launch and the RDNA2 announcement have happened since then, so I expect lots of cancellations for 3080 cards, but with OCUK having only shipped 559 cards (as of the 26th Oct) they stand to loose a lot of money they are currently sat on if people realise what is going on and start cancelling in droves. If OCUK were to do what almost every other retailer do, and take payment on fulfilment, I wouldn't have such a big problem with their practices, but to be sat on millions of pounds of customer money with no realistic ETA AND continuing to take more pre-orders.... Well, it's dishonest at best and a terrible business practice, but the only thing I can do as an individual is speak with my wallet and shop elsewhere, which is exactly what I'm doing.

My whole point in sharing the email was that OCUK internally, do not sing from the same hymn sheet and the reply just kinda got me. I take her honesty as 110% truth and wanted to share it as it seemed she is as frustrated as the rest of us and for once, the communication was genuine and not a copy/paste auto reply others had sent to many.
