Transparency should be praised, not shunned.

If something truely bad were to happen as a result of being honest, it would speak more to me about OCUK as a company and further deter me from using them again in the future.

If OCUK were transparent from the beginning, we could all manage out expectations accordingly.

Just for context, I am not a new customer. I have been using OCUK for the past 15 years and this recent fiasco is making me reconsider my options in the future.

if her info is outdated or incorrect then all it does is spread more misinformation :)
 
If you think it is legal, then keep pre-order guys, feed their pocket!
You wont see card this year for sure!

It not illegal. You've knowingly preordered a product knowing that it wont ship anytime soon.
OC didn't take your money and runaway.
If you don't want to wait, then cancel the order and ask for refund. I'm sure you will get the refund within 2 days.

The demand for the RTX 30 series has been unprecedented and we are doing all we can to give you the best timeframe for your pre-order. We receive short notice as to the quantities of cards to be delivered, if we have an estimate for number of cards due to be received we will give you an estimated arrival date, otherwise we are revealing your position in the queue. Those with an estimated arrival date still occupy a queue position. The situation is fluid, we are expecting production and deliveries to ramp up going forwards. All being well we expect to fulfil most of our current back orders by mid-november, and all by the end of November (across all models). Queue positions are specific to the model your ordered. Please check the following page *Redacted* and your email for updates and options. Please only get in touch if you require a change to your order, due to high volumes our response time is longer than usual. Thank you for your patience.

My whole point in sharing the email was that OCUK internally, do not sing from the same hymn sheet and the reply just kinda got me. I take her honesty as 110% truth and wanted to share it as it seemed she is as frustrated as the rest of us and for once, the communication was genuine and not a copy/paste auto reply others had sent to many.

I don't think any other customers have an issue with you sharing it....just maybe redacted it slightly to protect the staff member in question, who should be applauded for her honesty.

Alas, all references to it have now been expunged and I'd question the moderation reason : "not sure posting this is appropriate"

Appropriate to who? Not OC, for sure. But an official communication that seems to contradict everything we have been told is sure as **** appropriate to many here....
 
OCUK moderators seem to be clearing up all traces of them ever being honest with us! There was even an apology in there somewhere.

Lots of deleted posts in the last few pages :rolleyes:

Can we get an explanation or some comments from whomever is deleting things?

It will be the same problem here, that's just an estimation.

The point is, they have stopped taking preorders, and have a robust plan for completing the existing ones...If its a couple of days late thats understandable, but just to be sat listening to absolute silence here seems insane, especially while they carry on taking orders in the vain hope they'll be able to fill them.

fair point, if I found out I were 1000's in queue i'd cancel too.
 
My post was removed, I understand I shouldn't have kept her name in the email but I'm a little surprised at this moderation.

Frankly, after 10 years, I feel like I'm out. I know this is not on them but the heavy handedness is the wrong way to do CS. I just wanted to share official comms, she was right to be that honest.
