*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3090 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

The palit gamerock 3090 oc is an easy equal to the strix, It has one of the best VRM's and power layout on any 3090 with very good quality components used . Alphacool will be producing a water block for it soon. I have had asus GFX cards fail before, but like all things you might get a bad card from any maker. The gamerock series are very good cards.

They are so bad I own 4 of them now.. :D;).. People not doing their research and the name palit scares them, this time they basically built a strix with better build quality. I would say an evga FTW3 but evga this generation has one of the worst components on a card.

One of the things putting me off the card was the fact that I couldn't see any blocks for it or any plans to make blocks - I came across your post on techpowerup as part of my research! I found a thread on Alphacool (I hadn't seen that before) but sounds like they're waiting on Palit and even then I wasn't getting the sense that it was 100% certain. Thanks for chipping in with your experience though, you have certainly put me back on the fence!

Alphacool are making blocks for them and so is Palit they emailed me a reply months back when I asked and they said they are making a matching waterblock for the card and making RAM too to match the looks with RGB and the ice stones too.

still no confo since ordering on 22 Dec- was told verbally last week that I was no 1 in list which was before the last shipment but still nothing. No replies to web message or emails. Getting very annoyed with the complete lack of information, care or anything even though they took my not so small £1700 or so last year.
Not impressed and doubt I will be buying much more stuff from here going forward

Another Gamerock OC owner here. Picked it up end of November elsewhere having waited forever for a 3080 to come into stock. No regrets and has been a stellar performer since having it. Reviews are starting to surface showing its credentials...https://www.kitguru.net/components/graphic-cards/dominic-moass/palit-rtx-3090-gamerock-oc-review/

Only downside I see is that OCUK are now charging £330 more than what I paid in November - even when stock was rarer than now.

Another review here for the 3090 oc version and 3080 version:-

What did you order?
22nd of December seems like nothing compared to people waiting from release day on 24th September.

i would never pay more than £400-500 for a graphics card. You guys are nuts. £1400 plus lol

Not crazy. have not been on any holidays abroad last year. usually go out a couple of times a week for a meal. cant do that as well so ive saved a fortune. got to treat myself to something ! . no buyers remorse here, its a great card..

I used to make minimum wage and so I know how crazy it seems to spend what would feel like so much money on something extravagant. In-fact I remember looking at builds online of people who had FX-55 CPU's and thinking they were nuts.

But if you're fortunate enough to have a really great job that has made you wealthy you'll quickly see how your perception of what things cost will change. I used to hunt for good flights, go somewhere ultra cheap stuffed into a seat like tuna in a can. But once I started a successful business and gained some wealth I was able to spend more on plane tickets and have a higher degree of comfort when I fly. Some of those tickets cost more than a RTX 3090 and are much shorter lived.

Just remember time is our real currency. You only have so much earning potential and the older you get the faster time runs away from you. If you want to be able to afford all the finer things in life you have to invest in yourself.

If you have the money. And want the card.

Some people care for the fact they are being extorted. Top of the range cards are escalating in price way beyond what they should be for what they actually are. People talk about the tight profits, it's all nonsense. The supply chain all take their cut, and nvidia are making a fortune.

People's expectations have to change if they want the best.

For me I will never spend that much on a card, I have better things personally to spend my cash on than rtx or to run poorly optimised games faster.

Keep in mind the MRSP of the Founders 3080 is actually £50 less than the 1080 Ti FE was at its launch. I bought one of those from NVIDIA directly for £699 on launch where as the 3080 today is £649. That's not a 3090 no, but the two cards are very close in performance, it's at best what 8%?

The 3090 has Titan prices but look at the VRAM it has etc it's a halo product. Now if only they could actually get 3080's available to purchase...

Oh I'm happy with the rrp of the 3080. They just ain't releasing many as people will buy 3090s instead in frustration. Very carefully controlled.

I'll stick with my 1080ti for a couple more years. It plays cyberpunk fine. I have gsync and it doesn't need crazy frame rates anyway.

Being able to afford it isnt my issue its companies i will mention no names pulling customers pants down scalping ! I have had enough of it tbh if goods retail at a certain price then the manufacturers can afford to sell to retailers at that price. To then have said retailers mark up that price substantially is just not on..

Pretty sure it's been explained multiple times why there has been a price increase from the original RRP.
