*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3090 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

Well thy have lost another customer with their disgusting actions... they were more than expensive enough at £1700 ... anyone who is going to pay that price ( even miners ) need to have their head looked at as probably not mentally sane , for just £500 more you will have 2 3090 FE ( Nvidia will happily sell you 2 afaik )which for mining will probably be a little better than the strix.

I mean I don’t like it anymore than you, but disgusting?

Idk, it’s kind of just how business works. Say you have an antiques dealer, the market basically sets the price of his items. If suddenly an item he is selling becomes rare or famous he might crank up the price, because people will pay more. We have an experience as consumers but it’s important not to colour our reality based on emotion, business and marketplaces have always worked like this. One upon a time sugar and coffee was insanely expensive here in the UK because there wasn’t much of it. Are miners villains for selling gold at inflated prices when the market spikes?

Not really. So while I don’t like it as a consumer, and I think I won’t ever order from ocuk again after their preorder debacle, I’m not that disgusted by the fluctuations in price as an item loses or rises in value as the market sees it.

Yep disgusting action in my eyes , as I put above it is clearly taking the **** out of us the customers ... yes price goes up and down but a £600 price increase is down right disgusting and greedy, funny how the FE hasn't jumped £600 aswell  yep I will be voting with my wallet and none of my funds are going to overclockers again .

I brought one. Call me stupid all you want. More of an impulse buy than anything. I didn't know that they hiked the price that much though. I look forward to receiving it and giving it a go. With lockdown i'm not traveling for work that can cost me £400 a month in fuel so i'm saving in other areas at the moment, maybe others are in the same situation?

Its not just ocuk. All retailers are asking for a similar price. I saw my 3090 come in stock elsewhere. I paid £1500 for it four months ago, yesterday I saw 10+ units sold out within 30 minutes for nearly a £1000 more than what I paid. Obviously priced to sell

I would never directly insult someone over a graphics card choice but I do find it bemusing that anyone would purchase them at these prices unless you're a miner who can earn your money back on them. Are people really that desperate to game on a PC that they would spend so much? At £1500 the 3090 already had diminishing returns over the 3080. At £2500... it literally makes no sense. Stick with an old card or buy a console to play video games on for 6 months and then buy the new Nvidia 4000 series when they are released. Within 6 months the 3090 will be outpowered by a GPU that is a fraction of the cost (assuming this pricing nonsense resolves itself by the end of the year). To add, you can even purchase a pre-made PC with a 3090 for around £3000 anyway so for £500 more you end up with a ton more kit. I respect your right to choose, I just don't understand your choice haha :).

More money than sense is the phrase usually thrown at me - I disagree, I'm just good with saving haha. I'm a massive fan of having the latest tech and when i saw it in stock, i wanted it!. I have my old 2080 and I'm debating mining on that. Never really tried it before but its 'free money' minus the power and i have the card anyway so nobody else is missing out.

3090 Strix OC now £2,399 on OCUK's store page. I paid £1,699! - That's an insane increase in price.

That seems odd that they have spare stock in as after Gibbo's last stock update back in Jan

Asus 3090 Strix OC: 243 back orders left - 50 due in (175 shipped so far)

I jumped after those 50 to position 23 in the queue so still 150+ (ish) in the queue after me. Today with the 30 arriving I have a shipping notification :)

Yes, the price rise is daft though but sounds like they are losing money on the pre-orders possibly.

They're not actually selling any. It's just what they have them listed at, no order is possible and it has said they're due in "soon" for the past month or so. I've not once seen them for sale immediately but the price has steadily gone up over the past 3 months.

I'm in the Aorus 3090 Xtreme queue, I reserved in Jan for just under £2k (I think).

Am I annoyed OCUK overcharged me? No - supply and demand at its core.
Would I be annoyed if OCUK tried to charge me (as a new reservee) £2400? No! My only option is OCUK or eBay - guess which one comes with a decent RMA procedure?

There's two business models here (not 3).
1: Sell the cards at MSRP, have them snapped up by bots and the odd lucky customer, and then see them resold on eBay for 20%+ markup
2: Sell the cards at their market value. If you want to pay £1399 - wait. It's that simple imho.

The 3rd imaginary option is that OCUK sell at MSRP to non-scalpers. If you know how, develop it into software & make a fortune.

Surely though there must be some better way of doing it. I mean they have to be delivered somewhere and paid for by somebody, unless the scalpers are using all their friends and family. Then a correlation between credit card, name and addresses you would think would reduce it?

There are digital queuing systems available which large e-tailers use, for the PS5 for example. But even these cannot cope, and have to have a backend of staff manually removing orders. For lower volume SKUs like the 3090 (and all PC hardware really) the cost of doing so is clearly prohibitive, as neither OCUK, Scan, ******, or Amazon offer this service.

£2400 for a Strix 3090? OverChargersUK. I pray to God that when stock is back to normal, everyone and I mean EVERYONE stops buying from here and these con artists go into administration.

I am genuinely praying to the almighty Lord every day and night that Gibbo and his cronies are punished by God for this. Utterly sickening.

I simply don't get your logic. go on eBay, how much is a 3090?

The simple fact is, other people clearly want these cards more than you (or I) and are willing to pay £2400. OCUK is giving buyers the option to buy from a retailer, not a scalper.

Gibbo is nothing but a con artist. Pumping everyone’s money into his precious little Ferraris and using everyone money on the stock market. Who does he think he is? He must think we are all stupid.

Oh but but Brexit.. oh but but because of Covid.. blah blah blah. Con artist. Nothing more. Nothing less.

WAKE TF UP PEOPLE. CANCEL YOUR ORDERS. NEVER BUY FROM HERE AGAIN. REPORT THIS LITTLE SCAMMER. AND LEAVE AS MUCH NEGATIVE FEEDBACK ON TRUST PILOT AS YOU CAN.

Amen.

I'm new here, so excuse the ignorance if "Gibbo" is known to be a 'con artist', but based solely on their 3090 pricing, you are completely wrong. This is literally economics 101.

Also, since Brexit, have you personally actually tried importing anything from Europe? I have, and it's a mess. So if any of OCUKs supply chain is European, no doubt at all that supply chains will be impacted.

I'm not one to stick up for a Company, but I think the criticism here is a little harsh.

He’s fooled you with his BS too I see. This is nothing but the truth friend. Competitors are not selling for anywhere near these prices. Wake up.
I'm 'woke' enough, thanks. I therefore take it your not in the queue yet, and don't have a 3090, and you're upset you can't get one for MSRP?

I've seen 3090s going on eBay for £3k+, SOME people are desperate. If they are, they need to pay to get ahead of the likes of you and I who want to pay less.

Again, supply & demand, economics 101.

Do you need a 3090 today?

I paid £1,666.66 for my MSI Suprim 3090 back in January. I wanted a 3080, but the queues where stupidly long and just seemed hopeless.
My queue position for my GPU, is 5th, quite happy with it. First ever time building and as I’m away with work, I don’t need the parts till April.

Everyone cussing out OCUK on here won’t change there prices. Would I pay the new cost of £2,299.99? Possibly, it’s what’s someone is willing to pay is the worth of an item.

Also why is it a concern how anyone spends there money, expensive cars or stocks. It’s there money. If you’ve bought items from OCUK, you’ve received the items, the money is no longer yours as the transactions been completed. But that’s just my view.

Buy or not. Simple as. Ranting and raving on a forum ain’t going to change anything.

I am surprised so many competitors mentioned above and your messages are still here. I did not directly name any competitors yet my post was removed yesterday.
However I agree with above, end of the day OCUK is a business and their bottom line is making money for their owners, if people are not happy with the prices they will just have to look elsewhere, no point on wasting time posting on here and having a go at people doing their jobs.

100%
How do I like posts? :)
Haha, why thank you.

Don’t get me wrong. I fully understand it can disheartening for those saving up, and then the goal posts move by an exceptional amount, by no means are these amounts small. But don’t be going on a ranting and raving rant about it. You can or you can’t buy. But it isn’t the companies fault.

I’m waiting on the GPU, monitor and keyboard left. That’s it. Can’t get the keyboard till the monitor arrives as they won’t ship half orders, so even if I was home. It wouldn’t matter anyway.

As soon as Nvidia has stock of the 3090 FE I will probably buy 2 if them and sell the strix for £2800 as seems people have no issues paying this for a single 3090:rolleyes: ... I would love to try out some benchmarks and a few games in sli... would have liked a 2nd strix but not at the price they are being sold for on here :o

4090 will be starting at £2500 at this rate .....
