*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3090 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

I suspect their Queue # script probably puts a strain on the database to run, which is why we're not seeing frequent emails sent out.

Well, to change the mood in this figurative queue we're all lined up in; what will you lot be using your GPU's for? 4k? VR? Rendering?
Personally I'm futureproofing for the next coming years (also, I VR a fair bit); a 3090 seems more than capable of achieving this.

Have a great morning y'all!
4K gaming and, when I stop being a fanny about it, streaming
I invested in 144hz 4K displays a while back before realising I lacked the grunt to run them

I'm on a 3440 x 1440 ultrawide atm, so to start I just want to be able to have high refresh rates (currently a 1080ti so it struggles to go above 60fps in most games at the gfx settings I want as a minimum)

I am on the 3440 ultrawide too. I sold my 2080ti to fund this purchase, so I'm in additional 'pain' at the moment as I had to dig out an old 1080 laptop for use until this arrives.

I can only laugh though, what a situation we are in :D

Good job POE runs on a potato.

I'm getting mine purely for VR so I can have the frame rate and super sampling up on my index

I sold my 2080ti too so you are not the only one! Lesson learned lol

"Runs" on a potato, if you don't mind your frames dipping more than a fat man at a fondue fountain

I kinda just ended up going for a 3090 as chances of getting one seemed better than a 3080. Coming from a 1070 that's over 4 years old now so if the 3090 lasts me another 4 years great.

As a server software developer I can tell you such a script wouldn't cause any strain at all, less than a 1 second query even for thousands of queue determinations. It's more likely they don't want to send out so many emails to update every person (likely over 10,000 mails when you go across all the SKU's) and combined with that, not many cards (< 200 per week?) are being sent out which wouldn't really necessitate updates in my opinion.

I've yet to receive my own queue position but I'm just going to assume it's high and I'll get my card in November or December.

I'll be using mine for 1440p 165Hz gaming and software development work. I have some use cases for the CUDA cores and Tensor cores. One of the reasons I went with the 3090 is for the 24GB of VRAM which I'll be making use of with my machine learning stuff and not so much gaming.

3090 Strix OC

...then that's the beauty of having competition or alternatives.
.... What happens if a competitor has a great initial batch which then dries up? or if a competitor has lots of small batches and OcUK gets fewer larger shipments, say mid October? ;)

Consumers are notoriously fickle and have short memories.

No competitor discussions :D:D Plz don't ban me ;)
