*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3090 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

Hi guys, do you guys know what the availability is of the Asus GeForce RTX 3090 (GX-44G-AS)? Is it worth pre-ordering now to get into a queue?
No harm getting in the queue. Do be aware that OcUK will take the money upon reorder.

You can cancel at any time for a full refund but it’s worth noting.

Forgive me for asking what may seem a silly question but, what is the point of ordering the 3090 overclocked ? i mean its a GPU that will max out any game for the foreseeable future isnt it ? whats the point in overclocking and reducing its life at this point ? as i said sorry if its a stupid question.

p.s i ordered Asus Strix 3090 yesterday so god help me i was hoping for one before cyberpunk came out

Well basically I ordered the OC because forum morons theorized that Asus won't ship a single non OC strix til the people that bought OC cards get theirs maximizing profits. I doubt it but it made me go OC. I also thought not many people would be stupid enough like me to spend £1700+ on a GPU given how few people had Titan Vs and Titan RTX's but I underestimated the amount of people that will buy things on credit.

I figured most people lost their jobs and I helped with an emergency situation in March and April for my company and got a £2000 kickback for it to say thank you so it put me in a position to buy hardware I'd never normally look at.

Max out at 60hz sure, but who uses 60hz in 2020 hey

that kinda makes sense i suppose, ohwell it seems i wont be getting mine for a long while xD best i just forget about it and be suprised when i come home from work one day hahaha.

Im pretty certain it will max out any game coming out in the near future at 144hz with no issue, i cant see the OC making any difference for atleast a year, maybe more. But im not a genius so who knows lol.

I think for 4K if you just have Gsync over 60fps it'll be better than previously available experiences for any game coming out in the forseeable future.

*Puts hand up*

I never play online shooters and the like and 60fps does and has always looked very smooth to my eyes. And because my 'monitor' is a Sony VW870ES aimed at a 13-foot screen, 4K/60 is exactly what I need. But of course, I am a bit unusual in this regard. Most people don't game in a cinema.

I kinda shot myself in the foot in this regard. I WAS fine with 60, but then I had a 165hz display and now I can't even browse the internet at 60 without feeling sick

Haha. Yeah, can be very subjective. Most people comment on how unbelievably smooth it looks when I run stuff at 60fps on my setup, but then most people game on console. I totally get how competitive shooters, flick-aiming and so on, make it matter. But that's just not the type of game I like to play and not the course I set with my setup. Which is really a home theatre that just happens to have a gaming PC attached. Honestly, I hate competitive FPS. Apex Legends is just about bearable. ;)

People often comment that 4K gaming is a case of diminishing returns. Not on a 13-foot cinema screen fed by a pin-sharp laser projector it's not. I do question the necessity of 4K on a regular size monitor, though. That doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

Oh man I took until 1407 to order my Strix OC with a competitor and my queue email says 125th in line. Oh boy oh boy. That's going to be a November 30th arrival I think.
14:08 from here on launch day for me and I’m 88th in queue.

Also to other people’s questions I had a tv hooked up to my pc as I mainly play “couch console” games rather than competitive games.
My tv broke so I bought the acer 4K 43 inch 120/144hz monitor as I don’t really watch terrestrial tv.
My gtx 1070 pretty much got 1080p 60fps on most games.
That also happened to be the maximum my tv could display.
I’m now looking to max out my new monitor or get as close to it as possible.

I'm half considering pulling my deposit on the new Eve display for this reason. I have a 43" 4K144 where it definitely makes sense, but now I'm starting to feel like a 27" 4K144 may be unnecessary
