*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3090 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

It tells me that a factory which claims can pump out 50,000 cards per week which knew months in advance the release date is being held back on orders either on purpose or through negligence.
Presumably that same level of negligence that caused you to sell your card before you had a definite replacement

Not disputing there's a shortage of supply, but there's certainly nobody forcing anybody to do things.
Nobody is forcing me to do anything. I don't like being lied to.

I understand completely that demand has outstripped the supply, it happens, but how many cards do you think Nvidia forcast would be required in each country, and how many did they actually supply? What percentage do you think has been delivered vs how many on back order? They've released video cards before, they knew how many is needed in advance to fulfil the initial day 1 orders and they have the capacity to do it, yet they chose to do it this way instead.

I agree with this. Day one orders taking months to be fulfilled someone somewhere messed up with their forecasts on supply, regardless of what a pre order means, just stating the facts.

I also had a ETA stated at the time of purchase so that gave me confidence i would get it sooner rather than later. The bottom line is that there are 1000s of people who pre ordered expecting Nvidia to deliver on their product within a reasonable timescale.

Then add the fact that there has been some sub par product issues doesn't help us being satisfied that we made the right choice and being rather stuck now.

Also the holidays mentioned previously to have an impact on supply is just more excuses to add to the initial mess they have done, those holidays happen every year.

The sad fact is that im still sticking with them and live in hope!

It was being discussed prior to release that this would likely be the situation, lots of leaks and rumor mills. Yes, it is very likely that Nvidia have planned it to go like this on purpose, although, I would have thought they would want to fulfil every single order they can as soon as possible, before it's competitor products release and potentially cut into its potential early sales.

There's definitely a game being played here though, esp with the 3080 20gb rumored to also be coming out later in the year.. hmmm

Also known that some cards (i.e Asus strix) wouldn't be released on the FE release date.

Edit: I can't post anymore :(

@Ninja Lestat (Post below)

I can't see the 3090 queue being that huge, strixx seems to be the most popular card, but at least here you can get in a queue.
At a wild guess (or I'm hoping) that 4-6 weeks most pre-orders for 3090 would be fulfilled. 3080's on the other hand.. hmmmm

So much information too take in from this forum group. A lot of here say and speculation. I'm not far off cancelling my order. Especially if I find out I won't be getting it till January. I'm patient but not that patient.

Agreed. According to Nvidia they massively underestimated the demand for these cards. I told them on twitter "how could you not know, I could have told you myself 3xxx series was going to be a massive hit". They make a presentation like that and then not expect a massive demand does not make any sense. It's just crazy!!!!!!

The thing is that I don't really care what brand card I get. The first one available would be nice. But the way it's playing out is more like a lottery. Choose your card and take a gamble that it's on a boat sometime sooner rather than later.

There are stories of people late ordering say Zotac or Palit cards and having them delivered in a few days due to the lower pre-order amounts while people getting in early on MSI or EVGA having to wait indefinitely. It's a pretty poor show all round.

It's not some low value item so we should have some transparency on supplies and delivery estimates in order to make an educated purchase.

They come out with some bold statements on performance vs a 2080ti and 2080, then add the fact they are going to sell it at half the price of the 2080ti, what did they expect really?

You believe that Jensen has integrity and genuinely believes it's not a supply issue?
The more you buy, the more you save!

He's a slick salesman, a hypeman and this 'demand being the issue' is just spin, Malcolm Tucker wrote it for him.

Slipped up though

Even if we knew about all the demand, I don’t think it’s possible to have ramped that fast

That would be called a supply issue and you're saying that knowing about the demand would not have changed the situation.

This is one of the reasons I chose the KFA2 3090. I was expecting far less people to go for this card. I'm in queue position 1. I have kind of cooled off now. It will arrive when it arrives. I have almost lost interest and just accepted this is the way it is.

The KFA2 is what I preodered the other day. I noticed nobody was talking about it on forums but recent videos were popping up online in Europe so supplies are coming in.

Im with you on that, plus waiting until Jan the bloody card be out of date by time we get it, ill give it till Dec, ill wait no longer. I will then cancel and reorder a diff card when one is available or jus rethink my choices

Ordered a 3090 Strix OC on 24th at 1:57 on the dot and still nothing. Pretty sure I was one of the first to buy. Makes me wonder if they had any 3090s at all in stock on the 24th or if they just used them for customer custom builds? Can't believe the wait times for these cards already. Got a 10900K empty shell sitting here collecting dust, feel like an idiot for not expecting such short stock numbers lol...

If you look around on the various retailer websites that are posting numbers of what cards they've received (europe or further afield) combined with social media posts on reddit you'll find that the only people on this planet who have an RTX 3090 Strix OC right now are reviewers that Asus seeded with cards.

I don't know why this is the case, I can only guess. But for sure no cards were available to any retailers on launch.

Yeah definitely seems that way, wish they would have put it up as a pre-order rather than saying in-stock. Bit of a shame, wondering if I should buy an old 980ti for a little while on ebay until the 3090s arrive, could be a month or two from the looks of things regardless of when I placed the order.
