*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3090 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

Possibly.

I'm thinking that it's probably fake made up numbers to reassure people that they've done their part in ordering cards. I doubt even "some other large online shop which is named after a dense forested area" would order that many with their warehouses.

but yeah, I see your point.
Ohhh the one that is around the equator? The ones that rains a lot

Amazon? You can mention them, so long as you aren’t suggesting anyone buys any computer hardware from them :o

Thanks for that.
No problem. The differences are likely to be larger as the upcoming generation rolls on and better CPU utilisation is implemented now the consoles have half-decent CPUs.

The differences are also likely to be larger where the CPU is being leaned on more. Namely open-worlds with a lot of simulation. This would explain the stark difference in frame rates in GTAV.

I would imagine something like Assassin’s Creed Odyssey benchmark would show a large difference too. And that 10% (at least) performance you’re missing out on basically downgrades your 3090 to a 3080.

The thing that danish shop list shows me is that after two weeks how many models have yet to supply a single card or even have a card on the way.

I'm following a lot of online euro shops auto stock checkers, watching pre-orders pop in and out etc and by what I can gather with their estimated delivery dates is that a large batch from Palit and PNY are about to land in a few days with other brands landing later on at the end of the month.

The rain forest is estimating shipping around Nov 3 - Dec 7th for a palit sold by them.. so wouldn't hold your breath for too long.
My guess is a largish shipments will start to arrive towards the end of the month, but after being split amongst all the retailers, will probably not even scrape the surface of pre-orders here, unsure about others because nobody else (uk at least) is taking pre-orders like OCUK.

You're basing it off one store, I'm basing it off pre-orders I've watched come and go over multiple stores.

I've had the chance to purchase quite a few 3090's over the last few days from euro stores. They were ususally marked up a couple of hundred over retail or wouldn't accept UK orders.

I think I clicked buy on one of them, I got a paypal pop up but no receipt so may have been a preorder without funds being removed.

We shall see.

We shall see.

I've been following a tonne of stores too :P Not to mention, the time it takes for shipping via erm, ships.
But yeah, we shall see.. I don't mind being way off the mark, in fact I would welcome it :D

From what I’ve read Across the net I honestly do not think we will see any Asus Strix 3090 OC stock until the new year now.
There are just too many people with fingers in pies sadly for the amount of stock

I think the strangest thing about this pre order debacle is the total lack of update as regards an actual eta of any Asus Strix stock to begin shipping any at all.

I just don’t see any valid reason not to be able to establish an eta simply by talking to the people supplying Asus Strix stock
All it takes is a call and a frank conversation and then a frank statement but far from taking cash
I noticed that everyone else is refusing to even list these cards for pre order - because they know full well that there won’t be any stock for months
All the retail outlets I’ve spoken to openly said to me they think it’s wrong to take money from people for a pre order that they have no chance of actually honouring or the customer getting a card in any reasonable or fair amount of time.
I was told that several times.
I do wonder at what point we will be told the facts as regards getting a Strix order honoured or if they will simply see how long they can hold the cash
the question remains
What amount of time without any update info or item is “fair and reasonable” and what amount of time without any update or timescale could reasonably be called a p*** take ?

I’ll be honest I also felt it was a bit unfair to list the price at £1599 then £1649 then £1699 for an item you didn’t even have in stock just before the release time
I expect that from scalpers - not overclockers
Feel free to ban me guys but that is how you made me feel and I expect better from overclockers tbh

I think the team behind OCUk have a lot to answer for(that’s funny they don’t give us answers on anything) We have spent a lot of money on GPUs that we are not getting any information or updates on deliveries.
They are quite happy to keep taking our money.
For instance I rang on Saturday too ok find out my place in the queue as I placed an order on a 3090 strix But they would not give me my position, and he seemed enjoyed not telling me my position but also to say I will be waiting till January /February.

I have a right to know where I am in the queue when spending £1700, soon as I source another card elsewhere I will be cancelling my order and will never use them again and this is coming from someone who gas used them for many years.

Because if they publish Asus saying their stock isn't going to land until end of November and MSI saying their stock is going to land next week then you'd have an exodus of people switching and swapping pre orders and stores trying to catch the next shipment.

To be honest, I think OC are doing fine. They will atleast let you place an order so you will get one when your number comes up, it beats monitoring discord channels all day for single card drops and trying to beat bots.

Yes this is true so is OCUK’s loyalty with a vendor or the customer willing to purchase?
