** NVIDIA GTX 1080 FOUNDERS EDITION: WANNA PRE-ORDER?

Not sure the price is that bad. Brand new 980Ti cost £500 all the way up to £620 for the Asus Matrix and being that the 1080 is well faster and comes with support for new features and technology then it costing more is well what was always going to happen.#

Not sure why any ever expects different, top end cards have always been expensive.

As for no competition how much did AMD charge for the FuryX and Nano?! Hardly cheap at launch where they.

I will be in the US in June so might be tempted to buy a 1070 or maybe a 1080 if the price is good. Even adding VAT I'm looking at under £500 for the 1080 and even less for a 1070.

What shops will sell this? I'm going there in two weeks

At £619.99 I think it's still good value for money in the current market So does Linus:

In what dimension is £619.99 good value because it isn't the one I live in?

Really need AMD to knock it out of the park to be honest as Nvidia really are extracting the urine with these prices

I am usually the type of person that goes out and buys the newest greatest card but for some reason I just don't have the bug that I need the 1080 I'm just not impressed with it at all. I think I'll wait for the ti version to come out hopefully that will impress me more than the 1080

Pound to Dollar rate = 1.45

$699/1.46 = £482

Add VAT at 20% = £579 rounded up.

Current average retail price - £615

OCuk profit - £36

OCuk profit percentage - 6%

This is of course on the MSRP.

They probably get it slightly cheaper which will be list price and volume price reduction. So wouldn't be surprised if they are making 15% profit margin.

None founders edition based on the above -
MSRP -$599

Cost +VAT after conversion and 6% OCUK markup = £525

So expect none founder edition cards to be sold on OCuk for around the £525 mark.

As a previous poster of a different thread said : -

'where's all the dirt bags who thought that 200 notes was going to be the going rate for a 980ti as soon as the 1080 came out?' :D

You know who you are!

FE 1070's going to cost 400 notes in the UK judging by how the 1080's price has played out and if you think you'll be picking up anything other that a cheapo basic cooler 1080 non 'founder edition' for much less than 620 notes anytime soon you are also a bit deluded!

I am assuming that the Ti version will cost even more so I think I will be sticking with my SLI 970's for the time being.
