The MSI gaming card is 70 quid more expensive than the 980Ti was last year! 650 for a non Ti card, really taking the urine..
Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. I'm out of touch, I must be. I can't believe there are so many people desperate enough to buy this overpriced, over-hyped, glorified future mid range card that is causing the website and forum to run slow.
Nice one to all who have ordered the FE cards and enjoy guys. Anyone know when the FTW's are due in? No info that I could see on the site or did my very tired eyes miss it?
One of them must be wrong... both x2 8-pin, same specs... £100 swing?! Something not right there!
That Galax has come in cheaper than I expected at £525, but I still wouldn't touch it. Be interesting to see how well that sells.
I am surprised by some of these prices, although I can't help but feel like we've been tricked... the sky high stupid price of the FE knocked us off our feet, therefore softening the blow of what are still some very expensive custom cards. Overall though, prices are definitely a bit cheaper than I was expecting. Really begs the question though, why would anyone buy an FE now, unless for SLI (but even that's not a necessity), or an SFF build??![]()
3 choices that i can't picl
- Asus 1080 DirectCU III Strix
- EVGA 1080 FTW ACX 3.0
- Gigabyte 1080 Xtreme Edition
what you guys think ?
Well, aesthetics are still pretty important to me and everything except the FE that's currently available (except the MSI) looks like trash and since I need new cards (old ones went to the girlfriend) I can't wait an undetermined amount of time for the MSI release.
Plus, not going to overclock, it's in a case with great ventilation and since they will be SLI I want to avoid the issues I currently have with the MSI coolers where the top card runs 20C hotter and this causes issues.
Plus with EVGA I can step-up to the much nicer Classified when it releases..
Mental? Possibly, but we all have our reasons.

I will say I am also surprised the custom cards came in cheaper then they did. Was expecting FTW closer to £675 really![]()
GTX 1080 EVGA FTW ordered. Can't believe I bought it. My last expensive card I'll buy I think. This will do me for a few years. Not really interested in 1080 Ti model. That will cost nearly a £1000 I gather.
I resisted.
The more I think about the 1080 and the pricing the more I get less excited.
Now its here....its like (is that it)
