** NVIDIA GTX 1080 FOUNDERS EDITION: WANNA PRE-ORDER?

I'll wait it out on custom card pricing , but I'm not having much hope that price will be much lower. I'm really angry about the price:mad:

I am angry as well.

My 980ti is gone and stuck on a 5870.

When I read about 1080 it said the founders will be $699 and the AIB will be $599....

When I read that I assumed the founders would be something improved, binned cards, better cooler or something...

Since then I have realized it is just a reference card.

Really hoping there are some decent cards somewhere between the $599 and $699.

In celebrating (or rebelling against) Nvidia has now push the pricing of mid-range GPU card to unprecedented level, I have just spent £600 buying the Acer XR341CK 34" Ultrawide monitor with Adaptive Sync :D

£635 for a GPU only 20% faster than a 390x when ASYNC is used.=.
Wow.
People will buy?
I guess Nvidia really are the Apple of the GPU world if so.
I will wait for Samsung to release there effort.
;-)

£577 is the cost via todays exchange rate and that includes 20% VAT. Add on £20 for shipping costs and £600 would be a fair price. The extra £35 is the early adopters tax.

It's still a reasonable price but I'm not bothering at present.

Samsung? Pah. Get yourself a Chinese smartphone mate. Mines faster than a galaxy S6 and only cost me £130. Xiamoi redmi note 3 FTW.

Been watching this thread and it is funny guys end of the day people knew what kinda price this would be and the you guys will still buy it arguing for nothing.

I will get a 1080ti whenever it gets released not rush as there arn't any really amazing games out there this year.

ive done the hard bit gone with a 5930k etc (months ago) that was more stressful than worrying about the gfx replacement lol

Granted it is funny this gpu is nearly as much a 5960k!!!!!!! ish

I've highlight the key point- WHEN it is used.

Until Nvidia is bothered to put Async support at hardware level for their cards, they will put their arm around developers' shoulder and whisper in their ears "Don't use Async" ;)

Having a laugh at that price for a reference card. I paid £594 ( using current exchange rate ) for my EVGA 980Ti Superclocked cards on launch.

People can spend their own money how ever they see fit. I absolutely believe that.

But I think everyone is (or should be!) in agreement that Nvidia have dropped the ball on this one, and are plain taking the **** a bit. Even those that are going to get a 1080, and are doing the old self delusion dance, inside you know it's wrong, and daft to get one. Go on, admit it ;)

And to those that panic sold their 980Ti's? Do you feel stupid now? Honestly?

I know OCUK have their hands pretty much tied with regards to pricing, and I did initially register for pre order details but I really see no incentive for founders edition cards.

It feels like an experiment from nVidia to see just how much they can get away with.

I'll wait for the non FE cards :)
