Are MSI still using Afterburner for OC?

What voltages etc did you have? Just a rough ball park figure for me to go on.

I grabbed the Asus DirectCU II OC Strix http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-352-AS&groupid=701&catid=1914&subcat=1010

Quite a bit dearer than a lot of the 970's but after reading reviews decided this looked pretty solid.

Always used MSI in the past, but my last card a 290x MSI Twin Frozr Gaming OC died with 2 weeks due to a dodgy fan and decided to try something different!

Does the msi gtx 970 have a back plate? Because I live msi graphics cards but wint back plate so might have to go with gigabyte g1 gaming 970 but I wont a msi

I used Afterburner +.87mv on the core, (1.24 ish volts) power limit 110%

As someone who hasn't really OC'd a card properly since 8800gt, what are people using these days?

I always hated having to rely on software oc's. Are bios overclocks more common now? I wouldn't mind putting an OC bios on my Asus, but are there risks etc?

I know the 290x came with multiple bioses to avoid issues for example.
