I wonder what's made the MSI card the popular choice, Gibbo has 800 of them coming in the next batch too, far more than other models.

The last MSI card I owned was a 460 or 560 I can't remember, was brilliant though.

MSI card is massive, didn't realise how big the fans were on it either. No wonder they've all been great clockers I've seen so far.

Testing DSR out in Diablo 3, 4k downsampling and it's working at 144hz, which I couldn't do before manually. Very, very nice.

My MSI 970 does 1500/8000 with ease. So all those saying Gibbo was given a binned chip and that most of us won't reach those clocks can go suck it

That's doubtful, they score around that with 1500core and 2000mem. You sure it was the boost clock being reported?

The i5 at 3.3 may be holding it back a little.

Agreed Gibbo, the MSI at 100% is far quiter than my Windforce 780 was at 100%

I still don't think that's what it's boosting too. The MSI boosts to more than that without touching anything so seems a little strange the boost clock would be that low on the EVGA with an overclock, just can't see how it would score the same as 1500mhz 970's are achieving.

Yeah if your mate is only scoring 9000 then something is holding it back.

Depends entirely on the chip, the G1 has the highest out of the box boost so that may help a bit but any 970 will boost to that anyway.

Actually the Zotac card has the highest and is also a 3 fan design, it's also 40 quid more than the MSI though. May as well buy a 980
