1300 psu? Are you running four 980s or something
Wanted a new PSU and you never know whats round the corner, I might go four .. or other GPU might require more juice like titan 2's.
Always annoying when you upgrade and find you need more juice so should be ok for a while

My point was, I was reading some reviews for a 970 that was an EVGA and a high pitched whine was mentioned or what I assumed was coil whine, I guess it could be something to do with the new EVGA cards possibly. Just a thought.

Mine whistles lol. All my Nvidia reference cards have had whine. It's more annoying hearing people whine about it

Try looping the Heaven benchmark for a few hours. Some say that's cured their coil whine or settled it right down. Also check it's actually coming from your card and not your Psu.

You know lads i was reading the Bit Tech review and busted out the calculator and the graphs to see what kind of scores 1700mhz would get. If Maxwell could have stretched to 2000mhz on the core on paper it would be equal in maximum fps to the 295x2 with 91 each in BF4. Not that we will ever see 2000mhz but i am awaiting someone to start approaching 1700mhz with aftermarket coolers surely?
