Pretty sure these prices have barely moved since last week despite the announcement. Why did you make this silly circus of an announcement with nohing to show for it? Just annoying for those of us waiting for actual deals...

Not too bad. Assuming the 4070 lands as a 3090/3080 Ti in terms of performance, and taking into account it probably won't be $499 but more like $549-$599, then you might not gain too much by waiting for that rather than buying one of these discounted Ampere cards now (+ enjoying it early, since the x70 is probably a Q1 '23 release).

Prices wont go up, they will not sell out, i reckon there still be a hefty discount in coming weeks/months as theres just too much stock and they need it shifting for new cards soon some sites are reporting.

Im talking everywhere with regards to stock etc. Sry i shoulda been more clear.

At right prices, fair prices they sell, 3080 10G at £649 even though its the MSRP from two years ago and even though yes they should be cheaper they clearly sell and sell extremely well, though technically it is below MSRP as MSRP was set on a basic FE card, the Asus TUF OC is a superior product.

The 3060 at £299 is the other epic seller and is moving out fast, which I expect to sell out within the next 24-48hrs.

Never said nothing wouldnt sell just that its known nvidia and amd have big stocks everywhere due to increased production during shortage and now with nvidia new gen coming the stocks will need to sell quickly as another thing is miners have slowed down buying em and reports of mass selling old mining cards now. so yes theres a price drop now and theres expected more coming soon from some articles i read.

High prices for end of life products from companies that have been shamelessly profiteering from pandemic and war in order to maintain their record high profits and record high profit margins as much as possible is not something that appeals to me. It's not doing me a favour.

Last night I went into McDonalds to get some mediocre food and coffee that I could eat and drink while walking home. As I was making my choice, an employee tried to talk me into buying the "promo items" instead. Which are more expensive and have a higher profit margin. The employee used the usual scarcity argument to try to extract more profit from me through fear of missing out. That wasn't doing me a favour either.

I wouldn't care if nvidia and AMD both went out of business entirely. Their behaviour has been reprehensible and they don't deserve to continue to profit from it. Presenting selling end of life products at high prices as being such a massive favour to their marks that it's the epitome of a deal so good it's impossible (having your cake and eating it) is merely more dishonesty on their part.

OcUK has to work with what it's got. It's a reseller, not a manufacturer. It's not their fault. But that doesn't mean I'm gullible enough to overpay for obsolete products in order to feed the manufacturer's insatiable hunger for ever increasing profits at any cost.

Joxeon summed it up perfectly:

I wouldn't pay full price for 2 year old cake.

not everyone is right upto date on news. so as soon as the big nvidia show airs and the info gets out the [prices will come down. 2 weeks. then we will see.

Jensen getting desperate.

Remember Nvidia, with Great Power comes Greed......errr sorry I meant Great Responsibility (Not a chance of that, I guess). :p

Jensen getting desperate.

Has a graphics card company ever released a bundle a stones throwaway from the release of their next cards before?
