Nvidia inside: Hands on with Audi, Lamborghini, and Tesla

I dont think anoyone is silly enough to think owning either vendors gpu makes them superior and same with cars, You would be a fool to think it makes you it and a fool to think others think like that

Are you really that naive? I know for a fact that many people feel superior based on owning a "brand" name. Why do you think BMW, Audi, Mercedes etc can charge so much more for a car compared to Ford, Hyundai or Vauxhall? I have owned all of the above makes and can assure you that the level of quality in a Merc/BMW/Audi is not that much higher if at all. There are many posts here from Nvidia owners who truly feel they are better quality and worth the premium compared to AMD. They have a definite sense of superiority in the perception that they "bought the best at a premium".

Amazing how a simple statement can be twisted like this at will.

Pathetic. Yet another thread that looks like an Nvidia crèche

I never picked you for sinking so low into the gutter, i really didn't.

I though you were better than that.

Have fun children.

Accusing me of sinking so low is a good one, I like that.
You came into this thread and posted something which added nothing to the thread at all and the only reason you did it was because it was about Nvidia.

Just how an article that is only one day old isn't news is beyond me.

Trying your hardest to troll arent you ICDP ? Seen people banned for that.

Not a troll attempt, it's a fact that a lot of people here actually believe owning Nvidia = owning the best. They see it as a badge of honour, ironically, your sig demonstrates this mentality perfectly well.

Now I understand why I think everyone who owns an Audi is a tool. :D

I love how someone in a VW with a different badge suddenly think they are a "success". They actually have that air of superiority, just like Nvidia GPU owners, while in reality everyone else just rolls their eyes and thinks "tool",

I think it pretty safe to say that those people driving around in Lamborghini's, Porsche's, Bugatti's and Bentley's, are in fact pretty successful, so they don't need to worry about the fact that you consider them to be in Volkswagen's.

It's obviously affecting you in a big way.

Any chance to post this:

I have to agree with you, bru. Play with fire you get burnt and all that.

I think he has had his fingers singed now though lads so let's not turn this into a flame fest which serves no purpose even if I agree with the source of the derision. :)

Thank you for demonstrating my point.

Guys lets hope AMDs cars doesnt have driver craashes (which would kill me XD).

Anyways i dont want a car that has 105c XDD and stuttery driving so ill stay clear of AMD cars definitely getting Nvidia!

Nice to see Nvidia diversifying its markets some more, and finding other areas to uses its tech in,so its actually good news!!

It means they less vulnerable to Intel attacking its traditional markets,ie,like the scientific and commercial compute market.

We want both companies to be healthy otherwise Intel will just steamroller them eventually.

Regarding all the digs at AMD embedded solutions, they do stuff for military systems:

http://mil-embedded.com/1035-amd-graphics-processors-drive-realistic-fluid-display-at-designwest/

AMD embedded systems are found in aircraft like the A380 and military aircraft:

http://www.fudzilla.com/home/item/32446-amd-embedded-is-in-aribus-a380
http://www.pcworld.com/article/2048447/amd-describes-more-fruits-of-arm-embedded-partnership.html
http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/09/10/us-amd-chips-idUSBRE98900V20130910

One of those markets, for example the heads-up/heads-down display of the Airbus A380, where "most" of the designs include an AMD chip, said Arlin Iyengar, the corporate vice president and general manager of AMD's embedded business.

AMD's embedded businesses include several areas of focus: industrial control, gaming machines (consoles as well as devices like video slot machines above), thin clients, digital signage, and communications infrastrucuture, such as the so-called "small cells" that offload cell-phone tower communications.

Asked about progress in non-PC markets, Iyengar said AMD's chips are widely used in airplanes' heads-up displays as well as in medical imaging equipment and factory robots.

Sod self driving cars, I want self shuffling cars. Too many times I pull up outside mine and there is no space to park because a few idiots have parked 3/4 of a car length from the end of the bay etc. I would like to see cars intelligently shuffling themselves when a space appears to maximise parking space in such situations

Self driving cars could do this, assuming all the cars were networked they could calculate optimal traffic routing and parking. Not to mention when you arrive somewhere you just get out of the car, and it goes and parks itself!

we'd have less traffic jams too. when you've got 200 humans driving down a road in close formation, one person breaking causes a huge ripple down the line. with self driving cars I'd imagine they could all move at a nice consistent pace with good spacing etc.

Also I want to overclock my self driving car's GPU so the "AI" or w/e it is can compute faster and thus drive me places faster :D

Oh, I know. The tech will be amazing when it's ready. I had a go in one of the first generation self parking cars a few years ago, a retrofitted Ford Focus. It was a little disturbing to have a car parallel parking for you and it didn't hold back on the speed either :D

Well self driving cars sound good to me, get some hacking done and low and behold we can have some clear roads for us motorcyclists for a change.:D
