Nvidia preparing new Geforce with GK110

When I play planetside 2 and the fps drops to 40fps the input lag is really bad, to a point where I t stops me enjoying the game. I think this will make the monitor run at the fps the gpu is outputting. removing the input lag. I think LOL

Its going to have the same effect. Otherwise they would've said input lag eliminated. Limit the fps to 1 below the refresh rate has exactly the same effect. It reduces input lag. What other benefit does this offer?

So you honestly think that putting a frame cap at 59 is going to solve all your latency issues? Just to be clear you still get screen tearing when under the screen refresh rate. Not sure if you're aware of that

To be honest with u guys they're really making it look like current Nvidia GPU's are pretty bad for tearing etc and u need to buy this to fix it. Im stoked.

If you look at it from an ignorant perspective then sure. These issues effect both sides currently, whether you claim to notice them or not means nothing.

So mark rein says devs are stoked as they dont have to keep to 30 or 60fps and put more on screen as 40fps is less of an issue. People are playing down how important this could be. Personally,I like to see Nvidia making an effort to try new things instead of just "we are now 5fps faster in a select few games"

Far from it.. Very happy with my setup. When do u ever see me posting about these sort of problems?

So because you are happy with your setup there is no need to advance the industry to improve these sort of things?

As said previously, very ignorant way to look at it.

Yeah it obviously has the same effect Matt, they spent years researching something that could be controlled by a simple software fix.

OCUK experts outwitting those nvidia engineers again.

It sounds encouraging but if there is still input lag then its not going to change too much when you can can achieve a similar process by limiting fps to 59, assuming you can maintain that fps. More input lag is present as frames get lower so if input lag is not eliminated then it remains to be seen how useful it will be at fps below 50. In the video just now they specifically mention at 50-60 fps. Likely indicating that input lag and maybe even stutter is going to be present below that.

He looks knackered.

Why does everyone keep saying RIP AMD lol.

Can see a Vsync argument starting. Screen tearing and FPS aren't directly linked. You can still get tearing under the monitor refresh rate. So capping your FPS to 59 is not going to do anything particularly special.

Notice how all the AMD guys are playing this down, while the more neutral posters and Nvidia guys are thinking this is a good idea..

This could be awesome, want to see it for myself.
