** NVIDIA PRICE DROP: GTX 780 & 770 MASSIVE PRICE DROP!! **

Nvidia seems to be pretty desperate to sell the 770 and 780`s before the mighty cheap 290 (Non X) comes in a few days.

I see the 770/780 prices going down further.

BTW What happened to the Nvidia brand image LOL

I think gfx cards maker shaft their customers royally I bought one of these cards in august and now its over 100 pounds cheaper and comes with more games :(
This is why the consumer should all stand firm together and send the message to the maker "no we will not be chumps and get milked take this"...if we can hold the fort long enough (1 to 2 months may be), the prices WILL be slashed...remember how quickly GTX480's price dropped after release, because people refused to buy it at the ridiculous price (think it was £150 higher than 5870?) and hot running?

But unfortunately it doesn't work that ideally, since there will ALWAYS be people caving in and buy at those high prices, and because of that, prices stay high. To make it worse, there are some individuals keep trying to justify Nvidia's overpricing, and somethings make you wonder if he's one of us (siding with our wallet), or one of them (benefiting from the huge profit margin- shareholders?), or one of the other (just want to see Nvidia beat AMD and everything else don't matter).

But you were happy to buy it at the price you did at the time, so whats the problem? obviously prices will come down over time.

I paid £260 for my 7950 iceq x2 in June/July and i think it's fantastic value at that price even though you can now buy a similar version for £180-£200.

Why ?

If it's because you prefer the re-priced 780 then why not DSR the 290 and swap for a 780?
Looking over the reviews again it seems a factory overclocked 780 will beat or match a stock 290X at 1920x1080 on average, but with less noise and now much cheaper. Although I'd love to be proved wrong :D

I've never bought a graphics card on release day before, so it's my own fault lol. I could DSR it, but I've never liked the idea of that, seems a bit unfair to the retailer.

It seems trying to make AMD look the inferior brand comes above all for NVIDIA. Whatever the prices of the 290 NVIDIA just completely screwed over their flagship launch in less than a week the timing is so bad for AMD. having the 780 be the best for a while now and then giving AMD a few days of glory then doing this wow.

They'll have a free hit with the 780Ti too it's up to NVIDIA how they price it. Either way we just have to be grateful AMD came out with the 290's to push NVIDIA to make this move.

Why do people keep saying this lol? AMD had to bring a new gen out at some point anyway, they did it 3 months too late and nvidia have just **** all over their 290X launch buzz.

To be be honest I think AMD could have easily thrown in the towel and just released their next flagship on 20nm. (probably gonna get flamed for that opinion).

The fact they undercut the 780 by quite a bit helps as would NVIDIA still have cut £100 off if the 290x was £500? First adopters would have still bought the 290x at £500 even though everyone says AMD must be cheaper. It would have obviously only been a matter of time before the 290x was £430 or less though.

Don't you think that they would have reduced the price anyway as they are about to release the 780Ti?

Both companies should have waited for 20nm but it wouldn't of been the most profitable route. Also 20nm still looks to be around a year away.
