** NVIDIA PRICE DROP: GTX 780 & 770 MASSIVE PRICE DROP!! **

Don't you think that they would have reduced the price anyway as they are about to release the 780Ti?

By $150 lol, they were forced in to it by the 290x and the impending 290. The ti is a kneejerk reaction by nvidia to the 290x, I'm betting it's simply a rebranded titan with higher clocks.

If Nvidia could keep milking people £500+ for a 780 they would.

AMD pricing lower initially has to be of some significance to the cuts surely. The 780Ti would just be priced to what suits best for NVIDIA either way.

I not trying to say AMD pricing didn't help,
but with the 780Ti being released - prices were bound to be lowered.

Nope. Nvidia fanbois were still buying the cards at stupid prices. Only competition has forced them to lower prices. AMD left it too long but the 290 could force another drop.... :)

Grow up - using stupid names just gets peoples backs up

If it were not for AMD there would not BE a 780Ti ;)

Competition is good and anyone who is currently arguing over all this is just simply dumb, I only wish there was another competitor and AMD was competing with intel properly.

Every little helps with a NVIDIA price cut! :)
End of the day well done to AMD for for producing a great performing card to even give NVIDIA a reason to release the 780Ti and give a catalyst to these cuts.

Well I don't upgrade graphics cards for 10-20% performance increases which is all we have been getting for the past two years from Amd\Nvidia. I had to go xfire 7950 to get a large performance increase for decent money. Hell I'm seeing posts where 670sli owners are actually considering single 780's instead, madness. Nice to see the Nvidia price drops at last, but don't be fooled guys this has only come about because of the price\performance of the 290X\290 and not because Nvidia loves ya. :D

Titan looks EOL to me pretty soon there is no real demand for it with the cards cards available now. Would be nice to see a clearance sale of them :)

I've used Radeon cards since the fall of 3Dfx, but this price drop may well have swayed me. I reckon an MSI Gaming edition plus an EK titan block should be a huge improvement on my 6970. (even with the large drag factor of my phenom II)

Will the release of the ordinary 290 spark a further small drop in price on the 780? (if it is sub £350 with performance akin to gibbo's tests)

So I was tempted to buy a £95 power supply and a 290x and one of those heatsinks for it as water cooling is not my cup of tea.

But now having thought it over i see that the 780 has dropped in price.

So as of right now i can get a 780 gigabyte phantom £399 or msi lightning £419 or buy a £515 290x as there is no stock of any of the £429 ones and in doing this i save another £95 on the PSU and £40 on the cooler as i would not have risked a 290x on my 650w OCZ psu.

A visit to OC on saturday for me i think to get myself a 780.

So glad i had doubts now. Unless amd come back with stock of thier new card, with a new cooler, for £400 ? I doubt it.
