** NVIDIA PRICE DROP: GTX 780 & 770 MASSIVE PRICE DROP!! **

Hmmm tempted to go green.... but the next game I'm getting is BF4.

7950 oc'ed with Mantle or a 780? Might have to wait until xmas and see rather than give into impulse and buy now :(

Caved in and just ordered the EVGA Classified:D

Promised my self that I wouldn't upgrade from my 580 until a 100% performance increase.

The Classified is just about there at a now decent price point:D

The free games are the icing on the cake.

ive got sli 580s and i was waiting for the next iteration of cards, but at these prices i just dont know! im going to cave in when i get the funds

Would there be any knock on effect from this to the price of laptops with 770M/780M or is that not related really?

There may be small price wiggles but ultimately the laptop market is quite seperate to the desktop market. The 780M is unlikley to see any price movement as it is noticably faster than anything else in the laptop space.

The 780M by itself is eye wateringly expensive (to the end user).

I was tempted to go for a cheaper variant but i've read all the various reviews and the Classy seems like a really well balanced not to mention well engineered product backed by a cracking warranty.

Always the option of the 90 day upgrade if the 780ti is significantly faster/more memory etc, although i'm not actually sure how EVGA calculate the final upgrade price:confused:

Overall, the price drop + game bundle + near 100% gaming performance increase over my GTX 580 has made this an offer too good to miss:)

According to EVGADominic, the HC has Vrm water cooling as well but the charts for blocks don't put it that good.

Upped their game a little since the 680 HC's then. I'd wager they'll still be insanely restrictive though.

Just today, Natwest have increased my credit card limit for absolutely no reason. This is a sign for SLI if I ever did see one.

Another here who ordered a Lightning, then phoned and changed it to a Classified after reading what you guys said. :o

I have a MSI GTX 770 2gig gaming edition. Considered adding a second since its £269.00 but then im still only siting on 2gig vram which could be a big issue soon.

I did consider getting the 4gig version of the 770 since its only £281.00 but then im concerned that it wouldn't SLI properly?

Or should I dump the 2gig 770 and just get a new card entirely.

HELP :P

Aren't you guys worried about the 3 GB of VRAM becoming an issue in the near future?

2GB maybe, but 3GB is absolutely fine now and going forwards. Even 4k resolution has being tested and found 3GB is enough, OK future games might make use of 4GB but 3GB is not really a worry.

1.5GB definitely is and 2GB is borderline, but at the same time you don't buy a GTX 770 2GB to play at 4k as the GPU is not powerful enough.

So 3GB and higher only makes sense on more powerful GPU's.
